I would give this event 5 stars but Paul McDonald put a damper on my night. I just don't like that man. Other than that Idol reject, the concert was amazing and the bartenders were A++++ with the booze. El Rey definitely takes the cake among L.A. music venues. Love it there!

    Best live performers around!

by luckysidkitkat on 5/23/11El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

I flew down from seattle just to see this show. I have seen 100 Monkeys 6 times in the last year & they never cease to amaze. No two shows have been the same, yet they have each been just as awe inspiring as the others. Not only do I recommend them to my friends, but I also sing their praises to perfect strangers. The energy in their performances is intoxicating. Each member of the band takes turns singing and playing each instrument. The eclectic mix of songs keeps everyone moving and completely captivated. See this band now while the venues are still somewhat intimate or you'll regret it!

Monkeys were great! Could teach McDonald a lesson!

by AmyKT on 5/23/11El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

An evening with 100 Monkeys is guranteed to always be an entertaining one. They have a great energy and a songbook that plays better live than on the recordings. Every member of the band plays multiple instruments and takes turn singing lead vocals. They also are great with audience interaction and connecting with the audience. The only issue with the 5/21 performance was with current season 10 American Idol Top 10 finalist Paul McDonald's performance while the Monkeys too a break. McDonald has little stage presence and does not connect with an audience. He made no eye contact with anyone other than his bandmate. When the Monkeys returned to the stage for a jam session with him, Jackson Rathbone (most likely the reason McDonald got this gig is because he is dating Rathbone's Twilight Saga cast member, Nikki Reed), showed him up with his energy and audience interaction. While Rathbone played the tambourine and got the crowd going at the edge of stage, McDonald half heartedly hit a tambourine while watching Rathbone from halfway upstage.

    100 monkeys are the best

by sweety022 on 5/23/11El Rey Theatre - Los Angeles

I loved the venue, I got a meet and greet with the band and a pizza party. It was amazing hanging out with them before the show. Then they put on an amazing show. Can't wait to see them again.

Always fun, never a dull moment with this band. From old favorites like Junkie & Orson Brawl to new tunes and of course, the improv- "Magic Hands," 100 Monkeys delivers every set with unmatched energy.

    Forever a monkey!

by Jenoe on 4/14/11Bourbon St - Baltimore

Since the first time I youtubed 'Ugly Girl' I have been a die hard fan! They are coming to the east coast and I cannot contain myself! The music is amazing, full of variety and it's different then all the mundane on the radio now! My ipod stay on 100 Monkey Shuffle!

They are a great band! Guitars, drums, flute, trumpet, harmonica...the list goes on and on! And I do love the smaller venue to see these musicians play.

First Time, Definitely Won't be the Last!

I'll make this short. The show was amazing! 100 Monkeys have amazing stage presence, the band members constantly switch around the instruments they play. Not to be missed!!

You can never go wrong with a 100 monkey show

by BabyTart on 2/21/11Roxy Theatre - West Hollywood

I have never been to a bad 100 Monkey's show, I just don't think it is possible for them to play bad! 100 Monkey's live music is unforgettable, these hotties know how to put on a show and please the crowd! Although I very much enjoyed the opening bands, I wish I didn't have to stand for 5 hours waiting for the 100 Monkeys to go on. My only complaint is that there are never enough 100 Monkey concerts close to home(anywhere in Cali or surrounding states) I would drive for hours to see a 100 Monkey concert! This latest show at the Roxy was no different, these "monkey's" are talented, each able to play more then one instrument, and each able to sing; Uncle sang for the first time proving that the 100 Monkey's is more then the average band. They played for 2 hours and kept up the energy the whole time! I can't wait for the next show they have, I miss them already!

by sweety022 on 2/21/11Roxy Theatre - West Hollywood

Loved it, had so much fun. It was a long night considering we were there from 6:30 till 2 in the morning. But it was worth it and a good way to celebrate my birthday and I got to meet the band.

    Such a talented group

by briannaknt on 1/28/11Showbox SODO - Seattle

I wasn't sure what to expect when I went to my first Monkeys concert. I knew that a lot of girls were going to be there for Jackson, which happened, but I had so much fun listening to the GROUP of guys that played a fantastic show. It was so cool how they would switch instruments for nearly every song. I love how relaxing and mellow the music is. I recommend everyone go see these guys. I can't believe they haven't hit it big yet, they are super talented!

    Massive Talent In Those Monkeys

by PhotoJojo on 1/22/11Various - Coast to Coast

I would not have seen these guys 42 times if they weren't some of the most talented and dedicated men that I have ever come across. I have seen over 200 musical acts live and 100 Monkeys takes the cake as my favorite artist to see live - EVER. They interact with the crowd, tell jokes on stage while tuning up, they switch instruments and do an improv at every single show where they make up a song on the spot with help from the audience. They're good. Take my word for it. And if you ever have the chance to see them live, I strongly recommend that you do... you won't regret it.
