Not every comedian can be as good as their TV special when you see them live...and I even 'get it' when the comedian is RIFFING with the crowd...but SERIOUSLY, Felipe "phoned it in"on Saturday night in Seattle??!! None of his material seemed to flow...no big applause breaks...in fact, his biggest cheers only came when he would 'whoop whoop' about other Mexicans in the audience...
The opening acts where so bad that a ton of folks got up outta their seats and went back to the bar in the back of the theater...and STAYED there even when Felipe came on... (Mind you, this bar is in the same room and directly behind the mix position)...so when that bar crowd lost interest in the show, all the JABBERING at the bar became for funny than the guys on stage. On that note, venue did very little to help dial the background noise, so then that racket became even more of a distraction. The staff team at STG is seemingly comprised most of mostly retirees, so I doubt 'crowd control' is even a topic at staff OPS meetings with this team??!
If Felipe had been "ON"that night and was actually funny, then those folks that got up and went to the bar would come and sat back down.
We love Felipe's humor, but I guess you can't HIT every night with every show...and on this tour, his armpits were in Seattle??!!
