    Disney could have done better

by Lion king fan on 6/1/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Next time Disney should not hire a kardashian for their name. The poor child could not sing or perform. We expected so much more from a Disney celebration. Very disappointing.

    Couple changes needed

by Jay on 5/30/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

North Star was awful. Disappointed that Disney wouldn’t give someone with true talent a chance. And her costume was pathetic compared to all the awesome costumes on stage. Big FAIL!! A shame. And may have been best to save all the extra performers for at the end. It was for kids and they were dropping left and right early! Still loved it. And was a great show

Amazing performance but would have loved to see and hear Jason Weaver perform ‘ I just can’t wait to be King’.

Really great except for one thing

by Maddy on 5/30/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The talent was amazing and the show was well put together. The only thing that was not at all worth the money was the fact that North West (Kim Kardashian and Kanye's daughter) performed as young Simba. Her parents obviously paid to get her the part and she was nowhere near ready. She may have some talent for a child but not at ALL to the caliber necessary for such a huge performance with an otherwise star-studded cast. It was an extremely poor casting decision that I will not forget about. It diminished the quality of the show and reduced my trust in the production company. No one cares enough about freaking Kim Kardashian and Kanye West to support their nepo baby with mediocre talent.

    Why was North West there?

by Jacob on 5/29/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

The show was absolutely incredible! I was ecstatic to see Nathan Lane, and Jennifer Hudson was phenomenal beyond belief. I don’t think I’ve ever heard a better voice. That being said, I’m giving this 4 stars because North West absolutely did not belong on stage. I’m not even criticizing her honestly since she’s only 10; I fully blame the production staff for casting her when I guarantee there are better singers her age. She did not belong up there, but I heard the producers were good friends with you know who, and money talks.

Lion King 30th Anniversary Live to Film

by Christina on 5/29/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

This was a spectacular show!! We were excited to see some of the original cast as well as the new upcoming talent for future versions of this wonderful story, everyone can relate to its' meaning. I didn't expect it to last as long as it did but omg. the live music, dancers, characters all made it such a beautiful experience. The confetti at the end was such a surprise.

    Great show

by Sam I am on 5/28/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

I really enjoyed the show! It was great to see original actors and actress from the movie. I loved how the broadway cast was there as well. My only complaint was North West singing, it was awful.

    Amazing show

by NH on 5/28/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

Show was great. A wonderful combination of original movie, Broadway and live-action. Loved the live appearances, especially Jeremy Irons and Jennifer Hudson. Would definitely see it again in the future.

Good but not what I expected

by Jamie on 5/28/24Hollywood Bowl - Hollywood

In addition to the movie, I've seen the musical multiple times - one of my all-time favorites. I was mainly there to see and hear Jeremy Irons - who sounded amazing!!! I couldn't have asked for more. The rest of the voice actors were also great. However, there was a 20-minute intermission that was unexpected. When the show resumed, there was another half hour to forty-five minutes of singing and dancing that wasn't necessary. Was it cool? Yeah sure. Was it necessary? Not so much. Lastly, I will say that while I wasn't blown away by North West's performance, I think she did okay. She's not a professional singer or dancer so she was a little ahead of the music and limited to zero dancing...but she's 10 and has lots to learn. The costume, sadly, that was a big thumbs down. With all that said, they should have had a professional kid come out to celebrate a 30-year milestone.
