A comedian, actor, writer and producer, Nick Swardson has found success on the small and silver screens as well as the live stage. His unique comedic view has made him a regular guest on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and Conan.
As a standup, Swardson's "Too Many Smells 2018 Tour" visited theaters in 40 cities from April through June. Swardson also tours regularly on a bill with Adam Sandler, David Spade and Rob Schneider. Swardson's latest special can be seen on Netflix as part of COMEDIANS of the World where he was one of four comedians selected to represent the United States. He starred in two one-hour specials for Comedy Central, Nick Swardson: Taste It (2015) and Nick Swardson: Seriously, Who Farted (2010), a half-hour Comedy Central Presents special (2006), and his first comedy album, Party (2007), was certified Platinum.
Swardson was co-creator, co-Executive Producer, co-writer and star of the hit Comedy Central web series, Typical Rick. The series ran for two seasons chronicling the lives of struggling actors, Gary (Swardson) and Rick (Simon Rex), as they try to make it in Hollywood.
On the small screen, Swardson created and starred in Nick Swardson's Pretend Time (2010), which ran for two seasons on Comedy Central. He voiced the character of Troy in the FX series, CHOZEN (2014), and played the role of Terry on the hit Comedy Central series, Reno 911! (2003-2009).
After catching the attention of Happy Madison Productions, Swardson quickly became a fixture in the company's films. He co-produced and was seen in Sandy Wexler (2017); Executive Produced and was seen in The Do Over (2016) and The Ridiculous Six (2015); starred with Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride and Aziz Ansari in 30 Minutes Or Less (2011); wrote, produced and starred in Grandma's Boy (2006); and wrote and starred in Benchwarmers (2006).
Nick can next be seen in The Wrong Missy, premiering Spring 2023.
Laughing the whole time he is very talented is a must see.
Nick Swardson is one of thr funniest comedians out there. When i saw he was coming to Boise I immediately bought tickets. He did not disappoint. I love his humor. I hope he comes back to Boise again soon cause we can all use a good laugh. Thanks Revolution House for having him.
Opener was cringe worthy, literally would have rather gone to a funeral. He yanked bad and was not even close to being funny. Nick was good but thought he would have been on stage for at least a half an hour longer.
I’m not sure what the deal was tonight. I was super excited to see Nick but it simply fell flat. Claimed he has got “cold cocked” in Tacoma and had a black eye. I, honestly, did not laugh once. Albeit mildly entertaining, it was not a comedy show. Hope it was simply an off night and there isn’t something in his life that is taking over.
Nick was on! Fresh material, hilarious! Our seats were on main level and not too far back; however, we prefer seeing comedians in a smaller venue so you can really see their facial expressions. Maybe a big screen to refer to would have been nice. Other than that, great show!!!
The Orpheum is an amazing venue. A real gem. I loved Nick on Reno 911 so I went to see him. I found he was not as polished as I had hoped, mostly just recycled old stories from his past. Wasn’t the kind of well rehearsed and clever performance I expected. He kept saying “this really happened” as he told story after story, which is sort of a comedy foul. Advice for him would be to be more real with the audience and pull comedy from his actual LA life. Is he single, married, have kids, have a BF or GF? Does he have an annoying agent, tour manager, a housekeeper? I don’t know because he never once mentioned these basic things, which creates a wall between him and the audience. He’s played some great characters over the years. If he’s not going to do comedy culled from deep, real, present day life, I’d like to see him get into character. Maybe do a whole bit as “Terry” from Reno 911, etc. Ultimately, that would have been far more entertaining for the audience. Nick is really talented and a funny writer, so I hope next tour he gets more creative and doesn’t sort of mail it in again.
I feel so grateful to have had the chance to see this show at the Orpheum! It has been a dream of mine to see Nick Swardson perform stand up for many years and the experience was more incredible than I could have ever imagined!
Once again a great time. One of my guests was handicapped and needed assistance and they gave us center section seats in the back row (which was empty btw 😢) but awesome. Sadly 6 balcony seats was way overcharged for didnt get used but overly grateful for their accomodations for his disability. Swardson was amazing. Finally got to see him perform live. No issues. Sad about the cashless nonsense and only 1 choice of soda (slice/sprite/whatever) that was odd. But the new cushioned seats on the floor were an amazingly great addition. For a previous event we had very uncomfortable wood/hard plastic tiny chairs. Not anymore. It was a great, clean, hilarious time and venue. Thank you Madison!
I have never laughed so hard in my life and we laughed the ENTIRE show. I highly suggest seeing this man live. Im trying really hard to see this same show at least one more time.
Awesome show! The venue was nice. Nick put on a fantastic show.
Show was fun. Nick dealt with hecklers well and interacted humorously with the audience numerous times. Overall was a fun time.
Absolutley hilarious! I was expecting poop and pee jokes and he delivered! He had a heckler that was annoying but Nick added him in and it made the show even funnier. Welcome Back, Nick!
He was hilarious, happy we went. Only thing was I never heard so much yelling from a crowd as that show. It was actually starting to get out of hand. Why pay to go to a comedy show if your going to be obnoxious the whole time and keep interrupting the guy??
Love Nick- love his comedy style- he is the best!!
Nick Swardson didn’t disappoint! So glad it was all new material, he killed it. I will see him again for sure. Pretty cool that he went out after the show, and experienced what Des Moines has to offer. Highly recommend!
It was a great venue and a very funny show. As long as your a fan of Nick's type of humor, your going to have a great time.
He was even better than I expected! I laughed so much the whole time. He did not disappoint at all. So glad we went! (Not for kids)
From the opening bit about diarrhea to the bit about an 150 year old man giving love a 90 year old man for being young, the whole show was hilarious.
Nick Swardson put on a great stand up show! I could not stop laughing. All his jokes were new, relevant yet the same style we are used to from him and love! I’m excited to hear he has 3 new projects/movies on deck! His opener was super funny too
I think Nick is a little old to be relying on poop and pee for laughs. Next time #hardpass
