Two-time Grammy award winning comedian/actor/writer Lewis Black uses his trademark style of comedic yelling and finger pointing to expose the absurdities of life. His comedic brilliance makes people laugh at life's hypocrisies and the insanity he sees in the world. He has performed throughout the world and the US, where he performed at Carnegie Hall and had two successful Broadway runs.
His latest stand-up special, Tragically, I Need You, released earlier this year and has already surpassed 1.3 million views on YouTube. The brand-new special explores topics including his ways of coping with the pandemic, his frustrations with the evolving world, and of course his thoughts about the chaos of America these last few years.
Adding a unique element to podcasting, Black delivers audience-written Rants which have been submitted from fans around the world on his podcast, Rant Cast.
Black is the longest-running contributor on Comedy Central's THE DAILY SHOW and his stand-up specials have appeared on HBO, Comedy Central, Showtime, and Epix.
In 2020, he released Thanks for Risking Your Life. In 2015, Black notably voiced the character "Anger" in the Pixar Academy Award-winning film, Inside Out. His other notable films include Universal's Accepted co-starring Jonah Hill, Blake Lively and Justin Long, and also Man Of The Year opposite Robin Williams, Christopher Walken, Laura Linney, and Jeff Goldblum.
The comedian has released eight critically acclaimed comedy albums including the 2007 Grammy Award-Winner, The Carnegie Hall Performance. He won his second Grammy in 2011 for his album, Stark Raving Black, and has a total of 6 Grammys nominations. He has published three bestsellers: Nothing's Sacred (Simon & Schuster, 2005), Me of Little Faith (Riverhead Books, 2008) and I'm Dreaming of a Black Christmas (Riverhead Books, 2010).
A published playwright, he's written over 40 plays and has found his work performed throughout the country, including at the A.C.T. Theatre, the Magic Theatre, The Williamstown Theatre Festival, and The Public Theatre.
In addition to his professional pursuits, Lewis is dedicated to a number of charitable organizations including the Luv U Project, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, and The 52nd Street Project.
He's also deeply committed to supporting our troops. A seasoned USO tour veteran, he's performed for the troops on three Christmas tours in Iraq and Afghanistan.
Lewis is currently on his 2023 Off The Rails Tour. For dates and more info go-to: www.Lewisblack.com.
Love Lewis. Laughed until I cried. Sorry he's done touring, but will catch him on the podcast. Great new venue.
Lewis and the show were 5 stars! The seating was way to crowded until we separated the chairs
Enjoyable evening. Political parties received equal treatment. He could have been out there a bit longer.
Great show, lewis was very funny, glad he came to omaha again !
The performers were fantastic! Lewis Black was at the top of his game! The set breaks were a bit long, which would have been less of an issue with more comfortable seating. The seats are too small and much too close together. Once America gets hooked on Ozempic, maybe the seating will seem more comfortable. In that respect, the seating is ahead of its time.
What a great pair of comedians! Highly recommend sing them! Laughed all night!!!!!!!
Great concert!! Lewis is as sharp as ever. Lots of laughs from start to finish. The Factory is a great venue too. Bravo Lewis. See you on your Rant Cast.
Lewis as well as his opening act were hilarious. Lewis has the knack. He is not afraid to address current issues and he kept us in stitches. I would see him any time he is in town. But I am sure he will enjoy his retirement.
Great venue. Opening act was great. Lew was fantastic, so much anger!
Only complaint exiting the parking lot took a long time could have been better. Liked the size of the seats, plenty of room to move about
I laughed so hard I was crying š¤£ He was hilariously funny and I'm so glad we went. If we ever get the chance to see him again... we'll be there!
Funny, thought-provoking, insightful and outrageous at times, it's what I love about Lewis Black. Great show, although the crowd was typically St. Louis* subdued. That was on us, not Lewis. Great venue, too, will go there again. *Chesterfield
Lew never disappoints. Nice venue, too. Especially loved his take on Chesterfield. As a transplanted New Yorker, I just could not believe people would live this far out when thereās no reason to. (Ahem.)
I believe the comedian started off Strong was pretty darn funny until he got into politics and religion. I don't know why comedians have to lecture us about frozen embryos and political choices. There's plenty of other things to chat about, too bad.
Lewis Black and Jeff Stilson were awesome. Their acts very funny. Hate to hear Lewis is not touring anymore, but I understand. Will miss him live.
The show was great and it was my first time at this venue. Loved the intimate setting. No bad seats. Parking was easier than larger venues.
Loved the show! Great handling of heckler. Balanced political humor.
Iāve enjoyed Lewis Blackās segments on TDS for years and first time I got a chance to see him live. True pro in his delivery, on topic and laughed all the way through the set. Look forward to his next act.
It was a great show, I loved every minute of it. His opening act was hilarious as well
Despite one or two momentary āsenior moments,ā Lewis Black is as sharp as ever in his side-achingly witty observations on the warped American political scene and the āf***g idiotsā responsible for it. Black speaks truth and, although his fans are heartbroken he is giving up touring, we are greatly relieved he will continue to appear on āThe Daily Showā and produce his podcasts. He has inspired generations from the Boomers on down, and we eagerly anticipate his next book and, hopefully, new play! ā A.S.H. Urban
