First timer surprised by the whole experience
Bardavon 1869 Opera House - Poughkeepsie
Bought tickets for the HDStream of Carmen at the Bardavon as a present for one of my older children. My apprehension evaporated one minute into this gorgeous production. The updated setting together with the subtitling made this a rocking good time. Definitely going again and could pave the way to actually attending The Met.

Carmen is not to be believed
Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston
It was an extraordinary experience for me to see Carmen on a large screen with text in English and the ability to see the great acting by these magnificent singers. I’ve never seen anything like it. Since I usually sit in the nosebleed section of the theater I was especially impressed by this performance. I plan to see the rest of the operas being performed this season. All I classy is WOW!!!!

Carmen was Fabulous at UPAC
Ulster Performing Arts Center - Kingston
The performance was fabulous. There was a scholarly lecture before the presentation, then before the Live Streaming, the Met gave a backstage visit with everything that was going on. At each intermission, there were interviews with the stars. If you can't be at the Met, this is great. During the presentation, I purchased tickets for the next LiveStream Madame Butterfly.

My first opera
Bardavon 1869 Opera House - Poughkeepsie
The Bardavon's showing of the opera Carmen by the Metropolitan Opera was outstanding. The performers were excellent. While I am not a fan of opera, I did want to see this performance and was not disappointed. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to also see the personal interviews with the starts of this production. Well done, Metropolitan Opera and well done, Bardavon!

Wonderful and exciting. Great costumes, singing, dancing. Terrific night out for Valentine's Day.

Carmen
Keller Auditorium - Portland
Musically, it was excellent. Dramatically, I envisioned Carmen as a more fiery personality, as indicated by the fight she got into with her coworker. Probably because of being so far over to one side, the fights were poorly staged. From my angle the punches were way off target. But the sets were beautiful and the singing was excellent. The stars looked as I envisioned them. Overall, it was very good.

It was a most enjoyable evening We especially enjoyed Sandra Eddy's perfect Carman. Give credit to settings for creating just the right atmosphere. Dennis and Jan

Nice performance; terrible seat arrangement.
Keller Auditorium - Portland
The performance itself was very nicely done. I would NOT recommend purchasing box seats (unless you're in row 1) for any performance at Keller unless it changes. I've seen Carmen 5 times at various opera houses and by far the Row 2 box seats at Keller were not worth it. Instead of off-setting the chairs, you sit directly behind the person in front of you forcing you to become a bobble-head the entire time. Awful! What a waste of money these seats were! Again, the performance, however, was just lovely.

Better than the Met!
Keller Auditorium - Portland
Carmen was absolutely fantastic in every regard. I've seen opera's at the Met and, for the value, this was the best performance I've ever seen. Carmen was brilliant as was Escamillo. Set design was excellent, too. Can't say enough good about this show. Go and see it!
