Music selection and songs not what audience wanted to hear.

I wish that Mariachi Los Camperos would regroup.

by Mariachi Lover on 4/11/22Fox Performing Arts Center - Riverside

Mariachi Los Camperos is one of the best around. My husband and I have followed their performances throughout the years. We will travel across SoCal to catch one of their events. This latest one was somewhat of a disappointment though. This is just my personal opinion, but I felt that the show was too busy. Mr. Guzman the current director spoke quite a bit, there were also guest singers, folkloric ballet, etc. I really wish that the mariachi would go back to it's roots and do what it can do best, play and sing songs. And no offense, but I wouldn't go to a bar advertising a country band and expect them to play a Spanish song. Mariachi music is deeply rooted in Mexican tradition. We do not need Mariachi fusion. That defeats the whole purpose. In the end, we are left with a watered down version of what it could be.

    Best show!

by Ireallydontknow on 12/8/15Centennial Hall - Tucson

I've seen Mariachi Camperos de Nati Cano play many times throughout my life. But this show had to be the best one yet. Their remake of "white" Christmas songs were amazing.

    Enjoyable Evening

by momhoho on 10/27/15Valley Performing Arts Center - Northridge

The venue is very nice. We were even shuttled. The performance consited of talented mariachis, singing and dancing. There was never a dull moment for a 3 hour long performance. The audience was engaged. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. I highly recommend this event. I have been to numerous broadway shows and theater events in New York, Korea, San Antonio, and Ca. This performance was in line with the events I have attended.

    All performances/performers were awesome.

by Anonymous on 12/28/12Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

The whole evening took you to another whole wonderful place. However, when I purchased the tickets I chose mezzanine - 2nd row center - seats one and two, which to me is my perfect place as far as seeing the whole stage from front to back, right to left. When we arrived we were told we had upgraded seats which turned out to be orchestra as far right (up against the wall) as possbile, which was totally unacceptable. To save anymore hassel after the usher tried to accomodate us we accepted 3rd row orchestra pit seats from which we could only see the first row of entertainers on stage. Luckily, that turned out to be the mirachis. My point, those upgraded seats certainly were not upgrades to our chosen seats. Last but not least, your ushers need to be complimented for their professionalism. The upgraded seats were as downgraded as could be.

Mariachi Los Camperos left a lot to be disired .

by Nightboy on 12/27/12Peabody Opera House - St. Louis

We've followed the Compton Heights Band and specials for many yrs. and ALWAYS thoroughly enjoyed...but not this yr. The Mariachi group had some good voices and instrument players, but it just didn't blend together at all. Most of the performance was in Spanish and not even when addressing the audience was in English. They totally overpowered the band, and often each other. The soprano, Jane Galiti was excellent but only 2 songs at the end. This was supposedly Compton Heights Christmas special, but it didn't come across as that. The Peabody did not have a single decoration anywhere, the concessions did not have coffee available, yet it advertised, the ushers and concession people were not friendly and sometimes rude. We'll save our $140. per couple next yr. for something worthwhile. I'm embarrassed we invited friends to this.

Just wish the Mariachi was given more time to play their solos.
