It was absolutely amazing. It was a very intimate and comfortable setting, but the music was unbelievable. You want to cry from the beauty and nostalgia of the performance. Added humor was a bonus. If you don't see Video Games Live, you will regret it.

    VGL - interactive and delightful

by SeaBoard on 3/11/15National Arts Centre / Centre national des Arts - Ottawa

I will admit I wasn't expecting much out of this show: live music, probably loosely based on some crap video games, a bow and the end. Well, I am not ashamed to admit I was completely surprised! The live orchestra used an artful arrangement of relevant gaming soundtracks, along with often comical video accompaniment, to tickle the auditory senses and put the entire audience at captivated ease. Looking forward to next time!

The atmosphere was charge with passion for video games and music, the crowd was amazing and the orchestra and host showed a fun and professional vibe. Video games live 2015 ottawa lived up to my expectations

It was a very memorable event. Unfortunately I was displeased by how similar it was to the year before.

    Unexpected fun!

by ShannonONeal on 3/3/15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

I would have preferred to sit on one of the balconies but at the Jubilee, there really isn't a bad seat in the house. The symphony was fantastic and skilled, and the audience involvement was unexpected but filled the room with energy. It was not your typical symphony where you have to remain quiet and wait for your turn to clap/ cheer. I would recommend to others even if you have only played a few video games in your life. You will certainly appreciate the entertainment regardless.

Video Games Live Was A Lot Of Fun!!!

by Menardicus on 3/3/15Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium - Edmonton

This was the second time I've gone to this concert and everything was great both times!!! The music was great, the videos in between songs were hilarious and entertaining, and they even debuted a song at the Edmonton show so that was very special!!! I would recommend this show to anyone: videogame fans, classical music fans, fans of BOTH!!! The only downside was that it felt a lot shorter than the last time they played here and they weren't able to play all of the stuff that was requested but hopefully next time they come I'll be able to hear some more. Overall, great show though and I can't wait until they come back!!!

    Fantastic music!

by VglMusicLover on 2/12/15Beacon Theatre - New York

Video Games Live returning to New York City was a fantastic experience. The music was phenomenal, both the old and the new. it was great getting to share in the nostalgia and glory of video games old and new with a huge audience, and through some beautiful music. The Ico music was an especially beautiful surprise.

Video Games (not so much) Live

by SolidSnake123 on 2/4/15Beacon Theatre - New York

So I've been to VGL before twice, once at the Tilles Center, once at Beacon Theater so I was excited to see that they're back in the NY area and wanted to treat my boyfriend. I was so disappointed. They played songs from esoteric video games, a lot of final fantasy and soundtracks that were lackluster. Maybe they're really good soundtracks but I couldn't tell bc the sound quality of the entire show was POOR. I expect to be surrounded by music and instead it sounded muted and the live orchestra was backed by an electronic soundtrack that overpowered their sound. I thought they were better than this! It felt like that they threw this show last minute, and having been to VGL before, I can definitely say the quality went down. I'm a gamer but apparently not a hardcore one bc they catered to that crowd versus playing more popular soundtracks. Back then, they had a Metal Gear medley, God of War and Medal of Honor. Beautiful. I would have enjoyed the other soundtracks more if the sound quality was better. That I can say for sure. Turn up the volume!!!!!!!

    Amazing Show

by YSocks on 2/4/15Beacon Theatre - New York

I'd heard all the music before, and seeing it live was so much more than I ever would have expected. Everything from all the special guests, the videos playing on stage, to the special sets - all far exceeded my expectations.

VGL was great, the Beacon Theater was sub par

by Namaah on 2/4/15Beacon Theatre - New York

This was my 3rd time seeing VGL. The show, like the other times, was amazing. The theater was disappointing. The doors opened late, the theater was super crowded, and people weren't let to their seats for 45 minutes after the door opened. So super crowded hallways.

    Amazing concert!

by doot16 on 2/3/15Beacon Theatre - New York

Video Games Live is a great symphonic concert for anyone who is interested in not only games, but also music. It kept me entertained to the end and I was really amazed that there was an encore. The only thing that bothered me the whole time was allowing people to get up during the concert to get food and drinks. I felt like I had to get up from my seat constantly to let the drunk individual next to me get more beer and as a result, people in row behind us telling us to sit down.

    EPIC show!

by jascannon on 2/3/15Beacon Theatre - New York

I've seen Video Games Live once before, and it was awesome, but this show takes the (Portal) cake! There were a bunch of cool special guests like the composers from League of Legends and Halo, a surprise cameo from Christopher Tin, the amazing game vocalist Jillian Aversa, a great flutist, and more!

    Video Games Live Rocks!

by City1111 on 2/3/15Beacon Theatre - New York

Orchestra was terrific, as well as the choir. The screen was constantly changing and full of years of video game characters. Was fun to see the overall progress and styling in video games and their characters and how much more sophisticated it is presently. Tommy was high energy and fun, as well as the orchestra conductor. The women who sang and played instruments rocked the house! The interactive quality of the event made it well rounded and lively. Guitar Hero segment was really cool too. Beacon Theater is awesome and very special and a one of a kind landmark venue. Go see this!
