Kevin Hart great...The Tabernacle acoustics not so great

by Beth on 4/29/24Tabernacle - Atlanta

Kevin Hart was fabulous from what we could hear, but we could only hear about 70% of what he was saying, and hardly anything from the opening acts. If you sit in the balconies of The Tabernacle you will not be able to hear clearly. Several patrons were yelling down that no one could hear. Not sure what they could have done at this point but everyone around us voiced the same concerns.

    Surprised by the talent

by Nish on 4/29/24Tabernacle - Atlanta

    1. Kevin’s stories and energy did not disappoint 2. Nyiam was funnier than expected and had a great set. 3. Joey was surprisingly a good host compared to his SFTH appearance 4. Spank sucked. What happened bro?

    poor sound quality

by Kaleb on 4/29/24Tabernacle - Atlanta

The sound was just horrible. Speakers were not working in the middle & upper balcony. You could only here the echoes from the floor speakers and tried your best to make out what the comedians was saying. Mostly everyone complained, even someone yelled that to a comedian. The balcony seats are so tight and very little leg room for even the shortest of people. During the show they opened a side door and gusts of cold wind was blowing hard thru the balcony making most people uncomfortable. They eventually closed the door upon multiple request. Just a heads up the middle and upper balcony are about 5-6 flights of stairs to walk up. I wouldn't go back to this venue unless I paid extra for floor seats.

    Ehh

    by B. on 4/29/24Tabernacle - Atlanta

Doors opened on time which is cool by without any notification or heads up, we had to put our phones in a pouch, have it locked and it stayed like that the entire show. Didn’t know the time, couldn’t check on my kids unless I went all the way down into the little unlock room, couldn’t take pictures of myself in the bathroom, then the show started late, the mic didn’t make any of the comics sounds good, the seats are ON TOP of each other… I think that will be my last event at the Tabernacle!

Sound was awful and words were garble

by Shelby on 4/29/24Tabernacle - Atlanta

Hi! I couldn’t understand a single word that any if the comedians said at the show. The sound was horrible for those of us sitting on the third floor. I love Kevin hart and was super excited about seeing him live again but had to leave 5 minutes into his performance because we could not actually understand him. Everything was just garble. Tons of people complained and someone even told the Soundsystem person and nothing changed. This is absolutely ridiculous and I would really like my money back because I did not laugh one time at this comedy show. Worst show I have ever been to and not necessarily because Kevin wasn’t funny, but because I could not hear anything.

    Never disappoints!

by Jules on 4/25/24The Magnolia - El Cajon

We were lucky enough to see Kevin in a small venue before his tour launched. Material was relatable and we laughed all night. Love that guy!

Not what I was expecting for my first time

by JoJo MF on 4/24/24The Magnolia - El Cajon

Took my daughter to the late show & the first show was behind schedule about 30-45 minutes. It took over a hour to get through the line for the 2nd show & the venue decide to start the 2nd show while people were still getting to their seats. What’s worst than someone on their phone? Someone keeps walking in front of you for half the show. I think the audio engineer could've got the mic dialed in better so Kevin hart would sound clear & crisp but least the lights looked good for presentation in the background. I think it’s best for the venue to avoid doing 2 shows in the same night since it seems they were overwhelmed to the point it seemed very unorganized. It wasn’t what I was expecting for my first time at the Magnolia. I hope the next show I see in May is a better experience than my first.

    K.H-El Cajon, CA

by A. on 4/24/24The Magnolia - El Cajon

We looked forward to this event, but were disappointed with the actual show. Things kicked off late, the people on our right came in late and may have been drunk. They were rude and talked while Kevin Hart was performing. We asked them to stop, but the response was inappropriate. We also felt the material was not as funny as we had hoped. The venue is very nice-

    Just ok…

by SD Reviewer on 4/24/24The Magnolia - El Cajon

Magnolia is a very intimate venue. I was really looking forward to this show. However, Kevin Hart’s set was simply ok. He was trying out new material and some jokes simply ran too long. He was trying really hard to connect with the audience but some of his jokes fell flat.
