gripping / emotional / poignant
Signature Theatre - Arlington
from the very first words spoken we were drawn into the story. the transition of the twin character kept it engaging, almost interactive. acting/storytelling was top notch, realism was excellent, the fact that it was left unresolved painted an apropos picture of the Iraq war and its effects on those peripheral to it many will attend plays for the simple purpose of refueling their souls on the avant garde. this play offers more, because it is not a cliche, it is fresh and reflective and pertinent and may show us a side of our existence we may not notice because the other side has been too busy shopping i have and will continue to recommend Dying City. awesome!

Dying City had us talking for hours after the show
Signature Theatre - Arlington
Dying City gave us a lot of food for thought. Grief is only one of the themes of the play, and is such a broad subject. There are so many ways that we go through the process - and work to avoid it. The actors, Rachel Zampelli and Thomas Keegan were outstanding! Powerful performances that left me exhausted! They were like dance partners -- well rehearsed and polished, but with just the right amount of tension. The four if us that saw the show together talked for 2 hours afterwards, and I'm sure we will continue the dialogue when we are together again.
