About

THE EMPTY HEARTS IN CONCERT:

Pop rock supergroup The Empty Hearts have a way with three-part harmonies, propulsive rhythms, and interlocking guitar parts. The band combines the grit of garage rock with the straightforward melodies of power pop to create gleefully catchy songs that aways leave audiences feeling good. Lead singer Wally Palmar tackles familiar territory like love and loss with an uncommon and unbridled passion; guitarist Elliot Easton responds with fiery leads, pulling from a seemingly bottomless bag of six-string tricks and tasty licks; and bassist Andy Bubiak and drummer Clem Burke keep it all moving along on a solid foundation of rocking grooves. Comprised of former members of Blondie, The Cars, and The Romantics, the band connects with audiences by playing the hits that made them famous along with their equally impressive original material. On their 2015 tour The Empty Hearts will bring their infectious spin on guitar-oriented, hook-laden rock to ticket buyers across the country.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

A big part of The Empty Hearts’ story is their impressive rock ‘n’ roll pedigree: the group's members have played in some of the most respected pop and rock bands of the ‘70s and '80s. Bassist Andy Bubiak (The Chesterfield Kings) formed The Empty Hearts in 2013 and called on singer/guitarist/harmonica player Wally Palmar (The Romantics), who in turn recommended drummer Clem Burke (Blondie, The Romantics). Venerable guitarist Elliot Easton (The Cars) completed the impressive foursome, and they got right down to business. Five days after they entered Bubiak’s Fab Gear Studio in Rochester, NY in 2014 they emerged with enough material for their self-titled debut album, which drew critical acclaim and an instantaneous, enthusiastic fan base.

    These guys are really talented

by DaveDR on 6/1/15The Paramount - Huntington

The Empty Hearts is made up of some amazingly talented folks - Elliot Easton in particular I never realized was such a great guitarist, well he is a Berklee guy - he blew us away with his playing which he made seem effortless. The set list was all upbeat tunes, very catchy and listenable and accessible. Plus plenty of Cars, Romantics and Blondie tunes mixed in. What disappointed us was how few people bothered to come out for this show. The tickets were bargain priced, we even dragged our 19 year old along and he really enyoyed the show too. The guys put on a rockin' show, great tunes, and they deserve our support!

They're having fun, so you will too!

by monkeypat on 5/30/15The Paramount Theater - Huntington

The Empty Hearts are having fun and they never fail to create magic. I love these guys. I've seen them 4 times in the space of 6-8 months and I will never miss an opportunity to see them. I always have a great time. They are 5 incredibly talented guys playing in smaller venues just doing what they do for the sheer joy of playing. When people love what they do, they shine. What's really lovely is the way they work together. They're having a blast. You can't fake that and because they work in a spirit of mutual admiration and collaboration, the result is nothing short of fantastic. Elliot Easton (The Cars), Clem Burke (Blondie), Wally Palmar (The Romantics), and Andy Babiuk (Chesterfield Kings) come together and just have fun playing their album and respective former hits. It's straight up rock and roll. It's nothing mind blowing, but between the talent and the love, there is no way you're walking out of there unhappy. I love the way I feel at these concerts. The venues are intimate, so the band is right there in front of you. The energy in the room is just incredible. The crowd is an older crowd, so there's no nonsense. People are there to have a great time and it's reflected in the crowd. The band brings their best every time. At the end of the concert, they'll even invite you to come say hi and take photos with them. Every time I walk out of an Empty Hearts show, I'm already looking forward to the next one.

    ROCK AND ROLLLLLL!!!!!

by Pasko1 on 12/13/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

All too often, when supergroups form, they might have one or two interesting songs, and the rest is just filler from guys who don't need the money and are running on autopilot. NOT THESE GUYS. They played the songs from their phenomenal album as well as hits from their various past bands -- and they played like guys half their age who just got their first big break and are giving it everything they've got. A great show, followed by an autograph session. All four members of the band are very gracious and down to earth.

    The Empty Hearts were AEWSOME!!!

by Getback9 on 12/12/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

In one word AEWSOME! The sound was great-their voices were great-every song blew us away. When they did their former bands songs it was just icing on the cake. After the show the band came out and talked and took pictures with the audience.
