Hilarious but True
Ames Center - Burnsville
Actor was great! He spoke a bit fast/unclear. There were some nasty connotations so audience must be open-minded. Needs for men & women is real but no mention of apologies. Would highly recommend! Started late plus 20-min intermission. Sight from balcony could be better.

Nothing to write home to mom about
Ames Center - Burnsville
The show was humorous most of the time, but I found myself getting rather bored during some of it. A video was played a couple of times to give some background info on men's vs women's brains. It was interesting, but the presenter spoke way too fast. It was clearly old, so not much that could be done about it. As with the video, the one man show was entertaining. However, he too spoke too rapidly and was VERY hyper. I found this to be unnecessary and distracting. Overall, it was an average show that I likely would not go see again.

One man show!
Ames Center - Burnsville
4 of us attended the show. We were surprised to see that it was a one person show. What a wonderful, funny performance. It was very witty and nonstop energy. We all laughed a lot and found thing that we could relate too. I would recommend this performance to others.

Sat right up front and my husband and I laughed our butts off! We have been married 50 years too like the couple he kept teasing! It was a fun evening!

Edgy
Adler Theatre - Davenport
Not the show I expected - The one-man show "explained"classic male-female conflicts from the male perspective. Effort was also made to have inclusive dialog so that the intra-couple conflicts applied to couples of other structures. The auditorium was not full, but the audience members in the very front may have been uncomfortable with some of the dialog and choreography. Soundtrack was universally appreciated by the audience aged 21 to over 80. It is definitely an adults-only show. The edgy jokes ended at the uncomfortable or outrageous stage without completing the thought to funny.

I would attend another performance to discover the things that I missed in the first performance.

Professional presentation, but audience was older then topic
The Pageant - St Louis
Most of audience was retired and had been married many years. They were aged beyond the subject presented. Many wanted to reminisce about the book they read in 1992. The speaker was a skilled actor but was unfamiliar with St. Louis. He asked if we had an IKEA and a COSTCO. He referred to this area as being "flat", and jokes referred to how flat our terrain was. We were interested in also seeing the Pageant Theatre. Next time, we have learned to not choose the folding chairs. However, we enjoyed the day and the light entertainment. Glad we went.

MEH felt degrading to women
Howard L. Schrott Center for the Arts - Indianapolis
There were some funny moments but it was a guy doing a show for other guys at the expense of women. It would have been better if there would have been a women comedian too so they could have played off of each other. I also expected it to be more about the book.
This one-man fusion of theatre and stand-up is based on the New York Times #1 best-selling book of the last decade by John Gray. Moving swiftly through a series of vignettes, the show covers everything from dating and marriage to the bedroom but Men Are From Mars – Women Are From Venus LIVE! is more than just the book.
After beginning in Paris in 2007, Men are From Mars–Women are From Venus LIVE! has been seen by more than one million people around Europe. It debuted in the United States in February 2013 in Raleigh, North Carolina and will be playing to audiences around the United States and Canada throughout the year.
When Mars and Venus collide, the adventures are earth-shatteringly hysterical! This show will have couples elbowing each other all evening.
Sexy and fast paced, this show is definitely for adults. It’s a great recipe for a night out: a little storytelling blended with some comedy and a dash of sage wisdom from the book.
