    Hard to hEAR!

by Jfn on 4/6/24Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

Dialogue was very difficult to understand. Small venue, mics not needed. Sounded as if the reverb switch was on.

Great fresh take on a problematic play.

by Ken on 4/4/24Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

When I first heard about Thinking Cap Theater doing Taming of the Shrew, I thought, "this is going to be interesting."I was right. I love Shakespeare in general, but parts of this play (like Merchant of Venice) are hard to take. This production was able to flip things around so you could see the play from a whole different context. The staging worked well, and the acting was terrific. It was a pleasure being able to see such a fine production in such an intimate setting.

    Shaking up SHAKESPEARE

by Ckshaw on 4/3/24Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

This theatre company delivers again. A modern take on a classic play that helps you see it in greater depth and from a whole new perspective. The production is well done and expertly delivered by the cast under Dr. Stodard’s direction. If Thinking Cap Theatre is not on your radar, they should be.

    Interesting Take

by He-Man on 4/2/24Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

My partner, step daughter, and I enjoyed the play. I like how Petrchio started out as goofy and made a really dark turn after the first act. My step daughter was disturbed. It provides an interesting conversation about Shakespeare's stance on women.

    Go See It!

by Marie on 4/2/24Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center - Ft Lauderdale

I think tomorrow is the last night (April 3), but seating seems flexible. It was a fun show and I am so happy that I went. My friends all enjoyed it as well.
