The evening's performance started right on time with Jay and the Americans taking the stage. Their harmony was very good and lead singer Jay Reincke does a fabulous job in singing the great songs of this band. Their first hit was in 1962 and original band members Sandy Deanne and Howie Kane along with member since 1963 Marty Sanders are with the band. They did all of their hits including great renditions of "Cara Mia", "This Magic Moment", "Only in America", "She Cried" and "Come a Little Bit Closer". They performed for approx. an hour then there was a 15 minute intermission then The Association came on stage. Dating back to its formation in 1965 this band still has four original members performing plus the son of a member who passed away. Original members Jules Gary Alexander, Russ Giguere, Jim Yester and Larry Ramos are still with the band along with Jordan Cole, son on Brian Cole. Rounding out the band is Bruce Pictor on drums and Del Ramos, brother of Larry Ramos. Regrettably Larry Ramos was not at the show due to health reasons and he was sorely missed as the harmonies, while good, were not as good as the last two times that I have seen the band in concert. He also adds considerable levity to the performances. The Association was on stage for over an hour and left no hit unsung. They started with "Windy" then rattled off hit after hit including "Cherish", "Never My Love", "Six Man Band", "Everything That Touches You", "Along Comes Mary", "Enter the Young" and on and on. It was a very enjoyable evening.
