Overall, I enjoyed this event. The artists were engaging and none of them lip-synced. They were great and brought their A-game. However, the Meriwether Pavilion left much to be desired. On a 90+ deg F day, the Pavilion price gouged for both water and a cup of ice. Sixteen ounce bottles of water were $5.50 as well as 32 oz cups of ice. The food stands sold so much water that they didn't even have time to cool them for customers, so ultimately customers would have to purchase both a bottle of water and cup of ice. The Pavilion makes plenty of money on alcoholic beverages and food items. It would have been the right thing for them to allow EVERYONE to have free water and ice. There were a few folks who fainted from the heat that day. I remember getting an email from the Pavilion a few days before the event informing concert goers that there were disreputable people charging for event parking. That being said, I think it is disreputable of the Pavilion to be charging $11 for a bottle of water and a cup of ice on a 90+ deg F day. On top of that, the food stand service was extremely slow. I stood in line for 45 minutes just for a bag of popcorn and cup of ice. Additionally, I didn't appreciate being hounded for my ticket every time I got up to use the restroom or purchase food. I not only had to show my ticket to re-enter the Pavilion, I had to show it AGAIN just to get into my section. That is problematic if your cellular service is limited due to so many people being in the area. I think showing my ticket once to get back into the Pavilion should be enough. Lastly, the Pavilion staff did not keep the restrooms clean throughout the day, and there was heavy usage leaving horrific smells. Because of all these things, I question whether I would attend another event at the Meriwether Pavilion.
