    Great Venue, Awesome Performance

by TerriOC on 5/13/22The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

The Vogle is a great place to see a performance! The atmosphere is warm and intimate, the sound fantastic! Just don't sit near the bar / bathroom (stage left) as the noise was a bit distracting at times. Stanley Jordan was amazing as usual. He played a variety of numbers, some covers, some originals. His drummer and bass player were excellent as well. That they could keep up with him says something about their talent... they never overshadowed Jordan's sound though, so good job to the sound man. The shining moments for me were when Jordan played solo, however. That's when you can really hear the melodic tones he is able to create with his technique. Just beautiful!

Outstanding performance in a Great Venue

by Cantante53 on 5/10/22The Vogel at Count Basie Center for the Arts - Red Bank

I have heard Stanley Jordan perform his vast repertoire as a solo artist and in trio many times. His performance at The Vogel was one of his best! He just keeps getting better and better, if that is possible. Stanley's unique technique and virtuosity were displayed in his interpretation of standards, pop tunes and originals and drummer Thierry Arpino and the bass player were amazing. This was my first time at The Vogel and I plan on returning regularly. The venue is spacious, but the smaller size allows the audience to be seated close to the stage. I liked sitting at a table and having the option to order a beverage. The acoustics were great. My husband, friends and I enjoyed a beautiful evening.

    Must see musician!!!!

by JoshMiami on 4/11/17Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center - Ft Lauderdale

Stanley Jordan is a guitar prodigy that performs covers and originals interpreted through jazz guitar. I have seen him many times with Grateful Dead Bass player Phil Lesh, in Phil and Friends. This was my first time seeing Stanley with his trio, he also surprised us by bringing his daughter to do a few songs as well, and that was beautiful. After the show, he posed for pictures with fans and signed cds. The venue was intimate and very nice. Would do it all over again.

    Stanley Jordan Magic

by jsmd on 4/11/17Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center - Ft Lauderdale

The incredible virtuosity of Stanley Jordan was presented at this show. Performing solo and in a trio format, he spanned the musical horizon from classical to avant garden modern jazz. As an extra added attraction, his daughter Julia sang with the group. Stanley played the guitar and piano uniquely at the same time. His mastery of the guitar and his special way of fingering the instrument creates harmonies that are amazing. A great show!

Stanley Jordan is a rare talent

by 578solo on 4/11/17Rose & Alfred Miniaci Performing Arts Center - Ft Lauderdale

The sublime and poignant music of Stanley Jordan has to be experienced at least once in your life. A wide range of music genres are played with almost inhuman technical expertise. You will hear blues, rock, "traditional" jazz , funk and progressive chord constructs interwoven masterfully with a minimum of players : a trio, but with piano, guitars, bass guitar, bass, and drums and even these instruments played in ways that you've seldom, if ever, heard. Put this concert at the top of your list or at minimum, or on your bucket list.A must see, must experience concert.
