About

Barbadian singer and songwriter, Shontelle Layne (better known simply as Shontelle), is currently in the midst of putting out her third studio album, an endeavor that will likely lead to a nationwide tour. Since her big debut in 2008, the singer has distinguished herself at concerts by combining her Barbadian heritage with a decidedly modern approach to pop music. This fusion makes for a very unique style that continues to receive playtime on the radio and in dance clubs all around the world.

Shontelle first came to prominence in 2008, when she released her debut album, "Shontelligence." Although several tracks from this release received an impressive amount of attention from fans, the single, "T-Shirt," proved to be the young artist's biggest hit. Shortly following her debut album's release, Shontelle went on to perform in several UK concerts with New Kids on the Block in 2009 for thousands of eager fans that were lucky enough to get tickets. She then recorded a follow-up solo album, entitled "No Gravity." Decidedly more experimental than her debut album, "No Gravity" largely departed from the carefree pop style that had initially contributed to Shontelle's popularity. However, for dedicated fans, this second album showcased the artist's remarkable talent and versatility. The album's lead, "Impossible," at first saw little activity, although it later hit the Billboard charts and went on to become even more successful than "T-Shirt." Shontelle is hoping to continue her growth as a musician in her third studio album, which, while not as experimental as "No Gravity," will ultimately serve as an exhibition of the singer's musical evolution.
