Bliss 5 stars lighting staff sound performance. Perfect stage for Shakti bliss o bliss
I had never seen Shakti so I didn’t know what to expect. I was totally impressed by the performance and atmosphere.
i went to this just for john mclauglin but i was surprised.this was one of the best shows ive seen at the capital and i have been going there since 1970. i told my friends from india about it they all knew zakir
Have been listening to Shakti for ~50 years. This 50th anniversary tour by the latest lineup following the release of their latest album ‘This Moment’ was much anticipated. With the amazing talent of new members Shankar Mahadevan (vocals) and Ganesh Rajagopalan (violin), the veteran leadership of John McLaughlin (guitar), Zakir Hussain (tabla, konokol - spoken percussion) and Selvaganesh (kanjeera, mridangam, konokol) played both old and new Shakti compositions with exquisite improvisations. One of the best concerts I have attended. I look forward to the release of an audio-video recording from this tour. This music is best enjoyed live with the improvisational traditions of both jazz and Indian classical music.
They were spot on, tight, and were really having fun. Excellent show and carefree,, but exacting musicianship. If you’re into McLaughlin and have a chance to see this show GO!
So glad I purchased tickets to this concert. The musicianship was superb, the vocals stunning and to top it off, the audience was so quiet, you could hear a pin drop to the floor. It reminded me of my concert days at The Fillmore East where everyone went to listen to the music being played.
