About

Robert Dubac's newest Off-Broadway hit, BOOK OF MORON, has been described as one of the most "Hilarious" "Intelligent" and "Scorching" satirical attacks on idiocracy since Mark Twain. (And "idiocracy" isn't even a word. How dumb is that?) The New York Times raves, "Riding shotgun with intelligence and absurdity, BOOK OF MORON crashes headfirst into the barriers of sex, race, religion, politics and the media. It may be offensive to some but there's laughter for all!"

Having been brainwashed by a culture that worships Kardashians over character, Trump over truth and selfies over self-effacement; Dubac begins his journey with one simple question. Who am I? What do I believe? What's the point? Okay, that's three questions but suffice to say, he has no answers. Just voices. Inner voices who come to life with precision and wit. One by one they pull him into a hysterical alternative universe of critical thought in search of the bigger picture. It's a head trip on a banana peel.

Robert Dubac's BOOK OF MORON is a fast-paced, hilarious production that combines satire and theater into what is being described by critics as: "Razor-sharp!" "Laugh Out Loud!" "Provocative!" "Thought-Provoking!" "Brilliant!" and "A Thinking Man's One Man Show!"

If you are yearning for some satire that cuts with a shrewd sharp edge or are just plumb tired of adolescent comedies generated by the mediocrity of television; then buckle up for a hilarious joy ride over the pot-holed highways of cultural hypocrisy with Robert Dubac's BOOK OF MORON! It's comedy on steroids. Think your funny bone can handle it?

WARNING: This is NOT "The Book of Mormon." This is "Book of MORON." It is a razor-sharp comedy that pokes fun at "idiocracy."

Witty, clever material, just not that funny

by PGS on 3/4/20Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Didn't appreciate the later part of the act when he tried new material out, fairly offensive to those of faith.

Robert is one amazing talent. I do not know how he can give a performance, non-stop, for 90 minutes without missing a beat. You'd better pay attention or stuff will pass you by. You'll miss witty stuff Amazing !!! 6 Stars out of 5.

A one man show that I don’t need in my life. Not funny, thought provoking or anything else.

    Very Misleading Title

by dmgl0130 on 3/4/20Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

First and foremost, the show was hilarious and I would have given it 5 stars except for the title. As he announces in the beginning if you were expecting to see "Book of Mormon" your SOL. You could see in the audience that there were people who thought that was what they were seeing. Also, the venue. My husband is normal size at 200 lb. 6' man. He was so uncomfortable in the seats. I know the venue is older. They should do a donation event like the Paramount in Aurora and replace the seats to fit this generation's backsides.

No one is immuned to the jokes.

by hnherd915 on 3/3/20Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

I love when there is equal amounts of roasting for all. I didn't know what to expect and I will say that it is best to NOT google search or YouTube search the show because it kills the jokes that you may hear again. No recording was allowed but I think there was a promo clip with the same joke . It was witty and unique in that it makes you think about how you think like good ole' psych 101 from years ago. GO see it! PS. I chuckle at the "bullshit detectors" that I went home with and keep them at my desk.

A Comedy Program That Makes You Think

by Linda K 2 on 3/3/20Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

Robert Dubac's Book of Moron is a comedy that will leave your head spinning. Robert has created 6 individual personas (voices) that help Robert (aka BOB) help him recover that part of his memory that was lost. Each "voice" is unique both in voice and attitude. I was amazing that he was able to keep up the quick pace of the show while switching between "voices", never breaking character once. It was entertaining and humorous. Great comedy with a ring of truth.

    LOL funny!

by A. T. on 3/2/20Broadway Playhouse at Water Tower Place - Chicago

This is a thought provoking funny show. Don't go if you are easily offended. He makes political jokes, sports athletes jokes, gender, race and sexual orientation. All were funny and not meant to demean any one group of people. The auditions was a little part of the show and that's what made it more fun.
