It had been several years since I attended a show at the Cure Arena in Trenton , NJ ... I was pleasantly surprised at how ADA friendly the venue was ... The entire staff was very friendly and helpful !
Being a regular fan of Ring of Honor wrestling , I pretty much knew what to expect ... The technical wrestling style is better than average ... but the show has less theatricality of other organizations like AEW or WWE ... it's typically.. one wrestler has a title belt , the other wrestler wants the championship ... and they fight ... as a result , some grapplers come off as bland and colorless ...
Death before Dishonor was a good show overall ... there were no matches that were out and out bad ... and most were very good .
The standout matches , in my opinion , were the TV title match , Samoa Joe vs. Dalton Castle , and the World champion match , Claudio Castignoli vs. PAC ... All competitors in these contests were exceptional .
The 8 team World tag team match , Lucha Brothers vs Best Friends vs The Kingdom vs Aussie Open , was terrific also , but trying to keep track of 8 wrestlers got to be a bit much ... I think it would have served everyone better if this had been broken up into 2 standard tag team matches with 2 men vs 2 men ...
My only other criticism would be the placement of some of the matches on the card ... the World title match followed a Fight Without Honor match ... both featured wrestlers crashing through ringside tables ... If these matches had been spaced out between each other , the effect would have been more impactful ...
Also , the World title match should have closed the card instead of the Women's World title match ... both were excellent contests , but the men's match had more meaning for future feuds in ROH
In conclusion , a very positive experience , and hoping Cure Arena will host more pro wrestling events very soon !
