I have been a strong fan of GT racing for many years and have closely followed the PWC series since at least 2010. I have attended the PWC races at UMC every year since 2014. Each year, I have seen a steady decline in attendance, vendors and overall neatness of the facility, especially after the Miller family sold it. There has been a significant lack of keeping up the areas around the track since it was sold a couple years ago. This year, it looked like they had not even kept up the grassy areas as we had to walk through or around weeds and other growth that were up to 1-2 feet high and scratched our legs. Also, there used to be many tents set up from vendors that were fun to visit and maybe score some free merch. This year, there was maybe 3 or 4. Personally, I really want PWC to continue coming to this track but with the apparent lack of support (and lack of concern for the appearance of the facility), I'm very concerned the series will decide it's more trouble and expense than it's worth. This could also negatively affect any chance of drawing other big-name race series here. I've had a chance to talk to the drivers many times over the years and they all say they love the track and like coming here, so I'm hoping UMC can step it up and keep this great event from leaving us.
