Wonderful under the stars

by DevineD on 7/6/16Schermerhorn Symphony Center - NashvilleThis was not a fourth of July celebration by any stretch of the imagination. Where were the patriotic tunes? Not one Philip Souza! Many selections played were not recognizable. People in the seats around me were displaying the same boredom that I felt. This was not the rousing performance I expected.

by Ronnnnnn on 1/11/16Schermerhorn Symphony Center - NashvilleThe oboe and clarinet solos were superb! The oboe a little more modern, than my taste, but when performed as well as this was is still outstanding. The Requiem was performed about as well as any musical work I have the privilege of attending. Those performances include grand opera in the Staatsoper in Vienna, Austria, the Newe oper house in Cologne, Germany, the Royal opera house in London, etc. Truly a world class performance by both symphony and choir!!!!!
