Beautiful costume, very energetic dancing, a real “Taste” of India.
The costumes were gorgeous, performance filled with high energy.
Mystic India was beautiful visually with exotic costumes and outstanding dancers. However, the program was a jumble of styles. Traditional Indian dances and music were lovely, but including American pop styles was boring, repetitive and annoyingly loud. The MC was tolerable until he began yelling through his mic trying to make the audience cheer louder. I was ready to leave before intermission.
I recommend this event as a new experience. Outstanding performers, beautiful costumes!
The presentation needed a better storyline to tie everything together. Dances were rather redundant. The strobe lights shining into the audience were distracting in a negative way. And the MC would yell into the microphone toward the end of his monologues. I would say that this was just a little step above university theater productions. On a good note, there were many costume changes during the length of the show.
My 14yr old niece loved it (keep in mind she has never been to a live performance show, also she has terrible taste lol). The show it self was all over the place. I did not like that they weren't really singing, more like just mouthing some of the words that were playing over the loud speakers, that were TOO loud. They didn't talk, it was this guy narrating diff stories over the microphone, which they honestly needed somebody maybe more animated. I am sure they worked really hard, because their dancing was nice and the costumes were to die for. But that's not what makes a whole show. Let alone for 70 bucks a ticket. On our way there a Groupon notifcation popped up, they had them for 29$, that would have been ok. Because you get what you pay for.
Brilliant dance choreography ! No fancy sets, just lighting, costumes and music! You leave feeling entertained, that you have just returned from India! Well done!
Loved it but the dances and themes became too repetitive. Needs more of real classical or fusion.
