Great music of Pink Floyd; production not so much
by DannySS on 7/1/18Ascend Amphitheater part of the Journeys Concert Series - NashvilleAs a fan of Pink Floyd, the music was great. The music was right on as was the vocalist. The solo guitarist really added to the performance. The production, however, left a lot to be desired. The camera shots were regularly late to pick up the key performer. It was though the technical director had never seen the show before and didn't know what to expect. Disappointing. A main feature of the show was to be a laser show. It was featured in all the promotions and the laser team was marketed as a professional production company. For the first half of the show, there were no laser effects. One could see hot spots where there were probably lasers, but no light rays, images, etc. For the second part of the show, there was mist or smoke to catch the beams, but it was anticlimactic. There were circles on the ceiling of the stage and a couple of lasers creating a flat plane overhead. Not muchto it.
