Mark O'Connor is an incredible musician

by RandiKuhl on 12/19/11Folly Theater - Kansas City

My husband and I are so glad we went to this event. Mark O'Connor, and all of the musicians with him, were top notch. It was a pleasure to be able to hear such excellent musicianship, along with a dash of holiday cheer, in such a lovely, historical theater.

    Sweet Line Up!

by crazenoela on 1/20/10Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

The line up was very good I must say, every band contributed something special to the night that left us remembering something we wouldn't forget after leaving that place. That's what I like for to happen after a concert is over, is being able to taking something from that performance that will stick with that person for the rest of their lives, especially for musicians that are always searching for new ideas/inspirations.

morgantown mountain stage was flat-out incredible

by billylilly on 1/19/10Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

This was one of the best shows I've ever had the privilge to attend. Just the sheer volume of musicianship displayed by all parties was off the charts. I've been privileged to attend a number of festivals and shows in my 58 yearsbut, this one ranks up there with the best. No matter how many superlatives I could use would be enough.

    Worth every penny

by mkcmpbll on 1/18/10Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

The talent that took the stage was by far the best group of musicians that I have seen in sometime. A good mix and a great time.

    Great musicianship

by fussruss on 1/18/10Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

Mt Stage at the Lyle B. Clay Theatre in Morgantown,Sunday,January17,2010, was an out of this world experience. Great musicianship from Tommy Emanuel, the Dupue Brothers, and Mark O'Connor's Swing Band. Great venue to see these acts play live, and I can listen to the program on NPR radio in about two months. Check out Mt.Stage at their web site for some great entertainment.

    Mountain Stage was underwhelming

by accordio on 1/18/10Lyell B Clay Concert Theatre - Morgantown

There was a lot of energy and a lot of technical skill. There was not a lot of musicianship. The Depew brothers and the Australian guitar player were out and out pandering....technique and flash with no musical message. Yarma and Bromberg were very good. So was Oak and Sage. Vertiver was boring, but at least honest in his music. Macdonald (McConnell?)had great gypsy jazz guitar players, but the bass had no energy, the singer had great licks, but was too under control and stiff, as was McDonald. Poor concert overall. This was the worst attempt I've ever seen by Mountain Stage to wrap up with all playing together. The lack of musical taste really showed.
