Mark Lettieri Group Live in Concert

The Mark Lettieri Group features Wes Stephenson (bass), Daniel Porter (keyboards), Jason "JT" Thomas (drums), and Mark Lettieri (guitar, baritone guitar).

Lettieri grew up in the Bay Area of San Francisco, California. He started playing guitar at about 12 years old practicing grunge and hard rock with his buddies in their garages in Menlo Park, California. In a YouTube interview with Mary Spender, he said, "We'd just get in my friends' garages and play a bunch of Metallica songs and some Sublime tunes or whatever and then we would order a pizza and climb a tree. That's the best."

He came to Texas to attend Texas Christian University to major in advertising and public relations. But when he graduated, jobs in that industry were hard to come by so he joined a country band and toured the metroplex. He also played the R&B and gospel circuit in the DFW area, which set the stage for his start with Denton, Texas-based Snarky Puppy in 2008. Through mutual friends he got a call from the band's leader, bassist Michael League, and quickly became their go-to guitarist.

Lettieri lists his biggest musical Influences as Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson, John Scofield, Charlie Hunter, Pat Martino, and George Benson. In the Mary Spender interview, he said "their music planted the seed of possibility for his career."

Also a widely respected session and touring musician, Lettieri has performed with a variety of artists, including Erykah Badu, Nelly, David Crosby, 50 Cent, Kirk Franklin, Lupe Fiasco, Dave Chappelle, and more.

In addition to composing, touring and recording, Lettieri is a respected educator, giving master classes and workshops on fingerstyle guitar, chord voicings, melodic composition, and creative improvisation.

Amazingly experience. Extremely talented musicians in a small, intimate venue. The sound was fantastic and couldn’t have been more pleased with the check in.
