My husband and I had the pleasure of enjoying our first experience with Lemon SpongeCake. The performance was outstanding, and we were glued to the stage from start to finish. I highly recommend putting Lemon SpongeCake on your list of must-see events. We are so lucky to have them in Boulder!
The performance of Vertical Migration at the very intimate Byron Theatre was captivating! The setting was perfect for this uniquely choreographed performance. The Lemon Spongecake Ballet dancers are always well-prepared and exude strength and confidence. In this performance, the dancers utilized their formal training, core strength, and acting abilities to effectively engage the audience in a story of domination, subjugation, resolve, hope, and finally liberation. Some may describe the performance as being "dark" or "intense," but I found it to be an accurate reflection of the high level of competition and estrangement evident in our society. The performance left a lasting impression on me, and it provided the audience as a whole some philosophical food for thought. I highly recommend this production and the Lemon Spongecake Ballet. Classy, provocative, creative, and original!!
