Hula performers deserved better venue
by SparkyTheGirl on 6/12/18Neal S Blaisdell Exhibition Hall - HonoluluVenue was totally inappropriate for this kind of event. The cement flooring caused echoes that took away from the music and made the conversations of the attendees overwhelming and distracting. There was a food vendor using a blender which I found incredibly rude. Food and drink were limited to a certain area only (which seemed odd in a venue with cement floors and folding chairs). So with this limitation and allowing vendors to use such noisy equipment, it would've been more logical to only allow food vending at intermission, since there were 3. The acoustics were so bad, we never could understand the emcee. And without a stage, the dancers were only visible to those with front row seating. We stayed for as long as we could, but eventually tired of craning our necks to see some of the event.
