About

King Buffalo on Tour

Over the past decade, heavy psychedelic trio King Buffalo have made a name for themselves as gifted purveyors of multi-faceted and complex psychedelic blues rock. Vocalist/guitarist Sean McVay, bassist Dan Reynolds and drummer Scott Donaldson are a prolific bunch, releasing four EPs and five full-length albums in less than a decade. As a result, they've amassed a loyal following of dedicated fans who clamor to see them perform live across the globe.

King Buffalo's fifth full-length album, 2022's Regenerator, is the third and final installment in the band's "pandemic trilogy." Mixed and engineered by McVay, it explores new dimensions and complex layers of the genre. Ambitious in scope and sound, the opening title track is more than nine minutes in length and showcases their unique sonic soundscapes and powerful songwriting.

The trio's propensity for delivering driving, heavy grooves will be on display during their fall 2022 North American tour in support of Regenerator. Their well-oiled live performances in which they adeptly recreate the complex layered textures of their studio albums delight concertgoers, and their shows do not disappoint. Grab your tickets for King Buffalo and see for yourself.

King Buffalo Live in Concert

Formed in Rochester, New York, in 2013, the prolific psych rockers have never shied away from complex melodies and arrangements. Drawing on influences from Black Sabbath and Deep Purple to The Doors, the band's debut album, Orion, made it onto many rock critics' best of the year lists in 2016 and showcased their unique brand of heavy blues.

King Buffalo's sound has deepened and evolved since their debut, leading to a trio of albums inspired by the pandemic the band dreamt up during a lockdown-induced touring hiatus. They returned to performing live shows in 2021, touring across North America with Clutch. In spring 2022, the band doubled-down on their touring schedule, opening on dozens of dates for Uncle Acid & the Deadbeats from Brooklyn to Los Angeles and back to the East Coast again. Headlining dates in the UK and Europe and several festival appearances in summer 2022 precede their North American headlining tour in the fall, which will see them tearing up venues from coast to coast.

    Awesome Time!

    by Jim C. on 2/21/23Tellus 360 - Lancaster

What a GREAT show last night! King Buffalo is the BEST band you may have never heard of. I highly recommend checking them out. Phenomenal musicians, I like to describe them as a heavier Pink Floyd, with some Stoner Rock thrown in. This was my fifth time seeing them live and they never disappoint! Tellus 360 in Lancaster, PA is a great place to see them. The opening band, Swell Fellas, from Ocean City, MD were also excellent.đŸ‘đŸ»

Was dope to see The Swell Fellas and King Buffalo at the Tellus360 venue. Very much enjoyed the GA standing area for this event.

    Stellar

by John on 12/13/22Brighton Music Hall presented by Citizens - Boston

Fantastic performance from King Buffalo, but we expected no less. Sound was good for all three acts. The number of photographers walking around in front the stage (in front of the audience barrier) during the first part of the opening acts' sets and the first King Buffalo song was distracting and I don't understand why the venue allows these photographers to partially block the view their paying audience, but it didn't ruin our overall experience.

    These guys ROCK!!!

by Tim O on 11/6/22The Moroccan Lounge - Los Angeles

I am 61 years old, and have seen hundreds and hundreds of live shows since 1974. Lots of iconic bands. Yet somehow, these three hard working kids from upstate New York are now my favorite band! I traveled to California to see them twice, and back home to Seattle for a 3rd show. all I can say is AWESOME!!! Try to see them in a small club soon, as I am certain once they get mainstream attention, small venues will be a thing of the past for King Buffalo!

    Fantastic show!

by Kristin on 10/29/22recordBar - Kansas City

We had been looking forward to this show for a while. We were not disappointed. I'd go see them play multiple times per year, if it were feasible. The opening act was Howling Giant, and they did a great job, too. Overall, an easy 5 stars. Highly recommended.

    Great bands, great venue

by Ron Battista on 9/30/22The Masquerade - Purgatory - Atlanta

The Masquerades' Purgatory was great for people who like to be as close to the artists as possible. Rickshaw Bobby's Burger Patrol was an appropriately loud stoner metal band with a sense of humor. It's only a matter of time before King Buffalo gets picked up by a major if that is the direction they want to go.
