Kat DeLuna's debut single, "Whine Up" (2007), topped the Hot Dance Billboard Play chart. It was in the top ten in Belgium and France, where she has continued to have great success, and was inside the top 40 on the American Billboard 100. On stage, Kat is flamboyant and has a loyal fan base that follows her looks and style. In 2012, tickets were finally sold for her first solo tour, and Kat played three concert dates in Japan. A winner of the Latin Billboard Music Awards in 2012 with "Dancing Tonight," Kat is a solid performer with her record sales too. Her latest release, "Stars," came out earlier this year, and once again confirms that this lady has staying power, and at 27 years old, she's here to stay. 

A hot but cool queen of pop, R&B and Latino pop fusion, Kat DeLuna was born in 1987 to Afro-Latino parents in the tough, poverty-stricken Bronx district in New York. It was this tough start and the subsequent upbringing in the Dominican Republic, where her family moved to when she was 12, which has led to Kat’s strong feminine image and a feisty attitude that helped her carve out such a successful start to her career. Kat is famous for her soprano voice, which she modeled by copying greats like Billie Holiday and Aretha Franklin, and her energetic Latin dance style. She's also known for her studio work, such as 2007's "9 Lives," which had a distinctly pop and Latino feel. Her second album, "Inside Out," peaked inside the Belgium top 20 when it was released in 2010. When Jennifer Lopez’s single, "On the Floor," was said to more than resemble Kat’s earlier single, "Party O’ Clock," Kat was quoted as saying, "It’s cool that artists like J.Lo are inspired by my musical style and sound… Jennifer helped pave the way for Latinas like myself, I love her."
