About

Josh Ward on Tour

While many country music artists adopt a cowboy persona, Josh Ward is the real deal -- a true Texas cowboy through and through. When Ward was in high school, he not only performed music but he did double duty at local rodeos, playing music in the parking lot before riding in the rodeo later in the day. Rodeos and music have been his true passions ever since.

Ward delivers a traditional brand of country music with a classic flair and a modern take on the Texas honky-tonk sound. Backed by a slew of top-notch musicians, the rising star has had nine consecutive No. 1 hit singles in Texas, his videos have been viewed millions of times on YouTube, and his tunes have received millions of streams from a global audience on Spotify.

Known for his natural vocal abilities, his heartfelt, earnest delivery and his crowd-pleasing live performances, there's no better place to sing your cares away than watching Ward and his talented backing band perform live when they come to a city near you.

Josh Ward Live in Concert

Born in Houston in the early '80s, Josh Ward began singing gospel hymns in church with his family when he was just 4 years old. When at home, his family listened to traditional country music, and Ward became enamored with Merle Haggard, Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and George Jones.

The singer also had a passion for riding horses and he regularly rode in local rodeos, entertaining the crowd by performing music in the parking lot before the rodeos. He also worked the Texas oil fields while figuring out how to pursue his music career in earnest.

Ward joined a band in 2003 and became well known on the Texas honky-tonk circuit. He ended up forming his own band after performing with a Western swing band and put out his first EP in 2007 and his debut full-length solo album, Promises, in 2012.

Five singles from Promises, which was produced by Greg Hunt (LeAnn Rimes and Pat Green), ended up hitting the Top 20 on the Texas music charts.

Following a serious riding accident in which Ward's life was endangered after he was stepped on by a horse in 2021, the singer found a new lease on life after a full recovery and doubled down on his music career while setting aside more quality time to spend with his family.
