    February 17...a concert to remember!

by gsoconcertattender on 2/18/13Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

Where do I even start! Robert Henry lit the auditorium on fire last night, and the orchestra brought down the house! I don't think I have ever heard such emotion put into the music they played last night, it was very moving! I really enjoyed the show opener "Brahms"...it was lighter than the rest of the program but very nicely played, and the chorus was a great second act opener. Can't wait for the next concert in April!

    GSO&C

by Musicislove1 on 1/13/13Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I've been attending this groups concerts for several years now and am truly impressed! The dynamic of the group, the music and now the youth orchestra really has made this a number one Symphony in my eyes. You can feel the energy every time you enter the hall for a concert and I have never left without feeling amazed! Take a chance, go see one of their many concerts...you'll be wondering why you didn't know about them sooner! See you at the next show!!

This volunteer organization shows that it has the talent and desire to make their performances masterful!! They are led by Dr. Trocina, who guides the musicians with a firm yet fluid grace. The Symphony is definitely one to enjoy as they collaborate and perform well together!! Bravo!!

    Amazing musicians!

by jjenniferr on 11/14/12Gwinnett Arena - Duluth

The music experience with the GSO is an unforgettable experience that everyone must experience during his or her lifetime! The exceptional talent possessed by the musicians, as well as the magnificent conducting of its phenomenal conductor Dr. Trocina, creates a wonderful concert/ballet that appeals to the aesthetic senses of the audience members leaving a lasting reminder of the joy of music. The GSO is a prime example of musicians performing to create a lasting impact on the greater community around them as well as to open a world full of possibilities for the younger audience members. Listening to the GSO perform will not only liven up a "mundane holiday", but it will also inspire both children and young adults to forge a path on the road to music, continuing the centuries long music-legacy of breathtaking performances that wake a newfound love for music in the hearts of audience members. Don't miss the next GSO concerts, get your tickets now!

I enjoyed the music. I would have like to have some information about the selections that were played. This provided a great experience without the hassles of significant travel or traffic.

It was a nice night out, being close to home, but it was not the ASO.

    How to put this nicely.....?

by Marquess on 2/14/12Gwinnett Performing Arts Center - Duluth

I appreciate their attempt, but a little more practice was needed, or perhaps not even that would have done the trick. Violins playing off key and woodwinds coming in like a bunch of kids entering a room through a narrow doorway... a few at a time instead of all at once. Maybe I'm just spoiled by listening to really good musicians. It was, however, nice seeing a live performance so I will be sure to go again and just excuse them their shortcomings.
