    Great speaker, uncomfortable seating.

by Vislander on 11/15/19Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

Doris Kearns Goodwin was everything I hoped she would be. Learned, articulate, funny and entertaining. I couldn’t have enjoyed her more. At the same time, I have rarely been as uncomfortable at such a quality event. I am 6’4” and it felt like I was in a middle seat in coach on Budget Airlines. I am hoping that the new Tanger Center provides better seating as I don’t believe I can attend another event at the Coliseum.

Enjoyed it with a couple of exceptions

    by B. J. on 10/6/19Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

I enjoyed the evening, but the moderator interrupted the justice several times at the beginning although she cooled down after awhile. It seemed like she had a point to get across, which was not why I went to the event, but I find that to be true with most moderators (think Meet the Press.) I wish Justice Stephens had talked about more of his cases; however, it was interesting to hear about some of the inner workings of the court as well as his opinion of the Citizens United decision - which I do not agree with, but to each his own. The take-away for me was the rule, "no one speaks twice until everyone has spoken once." Good advice for many occasions!

    Disappointed

by Chris on 10/5/19Greensboro Coliseum Complex - Greensboro

Had we known a CBS reporter was to interview Stephen Greyer the entire talk, we would not have attended. Her comments were excessive, questions were not intellectually stimulating, and she interrupted. Way too much her and not enough him. We left early.
