Grand Ole Echo Tickets

Chuck Mead is a legend and such a fantastic show - even with such a shamefully small crowd. The Echo, however, needs to step it up. The ticket for Chuck Mead, the subsequent emails re: the event, and The Echo website all said Chuck Mead - 5:00 pm. There was zero mention of opening acts. My friends and I showed up to The Echo at the time on the ticket and were told Chuck would be coming on at 9pm. What?! Why would we assume that Chuck would be on stage four hours after the time on the ticket/email/website from The Echo - especially with no mention of any opening acts? We ended up getting back in our car, going back home, and then returning to The Echo hours later at 8:45 pm. It was a tedious evening of driving back and forth twice to see a show. This was a first in my decades of seeing music shows. I don't know if this was Echo employee laziness or a money grab (trying to get customers to sit around and buy drinks for 4+ hours.) Please be more considerate to your patrons' time and give them more information regarding opening bands and closer-to-accurate start times of musical acts.
