Four masters, each three best in the world (or among the best) in their class, together on stage. Breathtaking mastery. Beautiful symbiosis. The first half was brilliant, strong. The second half had weaker moments, mostly due to songs that meandered or devolved into free-jazz improv that sounded muddy. But brilliant overall.
Excellent usher service and nice atmosphere at the venue.
Each musician displayed an easy virtuosity, individually and as a group captivating what looked like a full theater. The historic venue was a plus - very good acoustics. Thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
Wish there were more concerts by the same group, the performance was exceptional. Very enjoyable and even inspiring. Appreciate the welcoming and helpful approach of the Townhall ushers. Thanks.
Haven’t seen these three masters (without Rakesh) in person since about 2011. The music ans musicianship has developed from great to unparalleled in that time ans the addition of Rakesh provides that certain something that filled the stage completely. First time in Townhall and that was also a great experience. We were in center orchestra right in row T and had a perfect view, even with people right in front of us. The only thing that could have made concert more magical was to have been able to do it without interacting with Ticketmaster🤣.
As a bassist this was a life changing experience. I’ve always been fascinated by Indian Classical Music but this combination of Instruments was incredibly creative and complimentary of each other. The playing was another level of professionalism. It was an unforgettable night and the sound quality let the organic sound of the instruments speak
