A delightful mash up of both Fantasias. Sadly, some of my favorites were left out but I understand why the most child friendly were chosen. I’d have picked the Rhapsody in Blue over Beethoven’s Fifth but I still loved every minute.
We had great seats but were sitting on covered ice! The music and fantasia were great but we were so cold and the accoustics weren't that great for this type of music.
While the orchestra was extremely talented the advertisements and information on this performance was misleading. Before arriving the general idea was that the original film would play silently while the orchestra played through. However after receiving programs it made it clear they would only be doing 'selections from' both films. This was disappointing; especially in how they chose not to do Le Sacre de Printemps or Night on Bald Mountain. Their talent shined through however and it was not an unpleasant evening.
I'm so glad I splurged to buy tickets to this event for my whole family. This was a special treat for us and we were amazed by the performance. We have watched Fantasia many times, but to hear the symphony play the music in real life gave the experience a new twist. We heard elements in the music that we never noticed watching it at home. My 4 & 11 year old loved it! The video helped keep the 4 year old engaged and enhanced the music. It has to be hard to synchronize music to video and they did it flawlessly.
I grew up on this film and never in my life have I witnessed something so magical. Being in my twenties, you'd think the magic was all gone but on Sunday night, I felt as though I was dancing along with the characters. The Czech National Symphony Orchestra brought to life every drawing, every illustration and every color Walt Disney so carefully crafted. If you've ever wanted to experience beauty in the form musical articulation and visual artistry, then Disney's Fantasia is the absolute best way to experience just that. The event staff also gets my thumbs up as they were very helpful from the time we arrive to when we left. I was very pleased with the entire experience and it was definitely worth every penny!
Too much Fantasia 2000. No Night on Bald Mountain.
Wonderful performance; enjoyed every minute. Don't miss
The orchrestra's timing with the animation was amazing. The selections from. Both the 1940 and 2000.movies was good. The show left me wanting more
Great symphony orchestra with classic Fantasia animation.
