Event was great, as always but venue (HoB) is stupidly overpriced (as always)

I'll start by saying this review in no way reflect the venue itself or the staff. The show was in my opinion lack luster. The performances didn't have the amazement of years past. The suspension & aerial performers we fantastic but otherwise I was left with uninspiring dance numbers. Two of the performers had different performances in each of the sets which I have never seen before. This lent to the lack of variety in the performances. The length of each performance was for the most part short and I can't recall the last time a shibari/ropes performance was not a headliner at this event which was disappointing. The cost of attendance was much higher than the previous "home" and I felt this ultimately reduced the attendance which for me put a damper on the evening. In the past it was an understood rule of fetish attire and "no effort, no entry" yet I saw many people in "street clothes" just being "looky loos" which also brings me to the assumption that this show is now only using the notoriety of years past to bring in The Money. This event was so much more at the old "home" and it fit in that location perfectly. The event is no longer something I will look forward to and plan all year for the next one.

This was my 1st time at the House of Blues. Was my 14th year at the Dallas Fetish Ball. I modeled in the latex fashion show for many years (6, I think). Afterwards I went VIP. I got the same table every year. Was $50 for my table with 4 chairs. At first the table had the high back chairs with a table cloth and a name card. Once it got bigger and more people wanted tables in VIP, they gave us small foldable chairs to fit more people. I was really UPSET with the cost of the VIP 'table' at HOB. First of all, the cost for the VIP table with 5 chairs was $420. Second it wasn't a table. It was a small bar table with bar stools. The VIP area was BEHIND the DJ booth, and BEHIND the general admission crowd. I literally had to stand up to see the show. This totally defeated the purpose of getting a table in VIP. I always wear custom latex with extreme heels to the DFB, as this is my fetish. Sitting down to see the show is the reason I buy the table. We were so far away, I couldn't see faces of the performers. Also, there was only ONE waitress. She was completely overwhelmed. The first drinks we got from the bar ourselves. The second drink I ordered from her, once she finally had a chance to serve us. Taylor Segner sent me a form to fill out for the VIP drink choices. I only put on there Chopin vodka. They only served us beer in VIP. What a joke. I hated the HOB. It only made me miss The Church even more.

All in all, the show was amazing. The venue was more accommodating to a large crowd and the staff was very friendly.

This was our first ball-as a second positive couple being surrounded by like minded DFW locals was such a breath of fresh air. Will be making it an annual event!!!!

This event has everything. Incredible vendors? Check. An open-minded, welcoming atmosphere? Check. Wild and impressive fashion? Check. Award winning, top quality performers from all over the US who repeatedly deliver entertaining work? CHECK. The whole night featured some of the BEST performances I’ve seen in Dallas, hands down. This experience is not for the close-minded or faint of heart (so don’t bring your God-fearing grandpa), but it’s definitely not to be missed for the freaks and geeks.

The old venue, The Church, had a unique atmosphere that is not replicated at House of Blues, not that I expected it to be the same, but it was not good experience when one considers the events, lack of things shown, to do and how difficult it was to move about the facility. I did enjoy myself but it was not a write home about pleasurable experience.

Such a fun and well put together event! Everything was professional and polished and naughty and fun.

Outstanding venue, great performances from the headliners and will recommend to my friends!!!
