Ashe Auditorium
by Daniel on 4/5/23James L. Knight Center – Ashe Auditorium - MiamiBoth piano players had a familiarity with the pieces where the feel/genre of each song was perfectly executed. For example, they were in the appropriate groove for each piece which is important for piano being a percussive instrument. It was evident how much they cared and there was a sense of anxiety necessary for these type of performances. I have seen Uematsu play some of the same pieces live and I think justice was done to his work. Very happy i attended. The setlist was amazing and I like that it covered all of the different games. For a catalogue as vast as final fantasy soundtrack it would be nice if the setlist was posted somewhere because it is fun to go back and listen. The visuals enhanced the experience for sure and everyone will remember forever. A larger screen would probably benefit the people who had tickets in the back. My seat was broken and leaning forward which should be investigated by the venue. It would have been nice to have been told in advance that the concert was on the third floor and not in the main auditorium because I was very confused when I first entered the building since another concert was happening and I was certain I had come to the wrong venue at first. Staff was very helpful to point me in the right direction. Finally, a big part of final fantasy is getting rare items at time based events that are not duplicatable. Some type of item would surely bridge the experience from game to reality whether it was a printed setlist or a card or a pin or something to purchase. The audience and artists had a very special connection and I am happy I was able to take part in the experience.
