This was my 4th time seeing the Crash Kings play live. They never fail to put on an amazing show. I love watching Tony's fingers dance across his keyboards. Can't wait for the 3rd album!
Nico Vega was great! Aja's vocals were top notch and a pleasure to watch her jump around barefoot as usual. Rich's guitar work was perfect & Dan's drums were far more powerful than I expected. I would have liked less time in between each song and more songs of course. (played about 8songs - did not play my favs Million Years or So So Fresh - argh). They did however do signings at the merch' table afterwards, VERY nice touch! The venue, "the Basement" is a perfect name for the place. Poor acoustics and a terrible layout. I got there an hour before doors opened and was in the front row luckily, but anyone that got there much later had a terrible view. The pit' barely holds 20 people and about 40 people have a good view. I dearly hope they can come to Columbus again and visit the Newport instead.
From the openers to the Crash Kings themselves the show was incredible! Their music sounds even better live. Entertaining from beginning till end.
Enjoyed the venue and the concert. Both the warm up bands were great. There was such great energy there that Crash Kings played 3 encore songs.
I've waited a long time for their new album and to see them perform again ... I can't even describe what a fabulous show they put on ... old songs mixed with new ... it was just wicked awesome!!
Crash Kings opened the night at the Basement (which feels like your basement). They rocked the room with just pianos, bass and drums. They have unique sound that personifies their music; I can't stop listening to their new LP Dark of the Daylight. Nico Vega went so far beyond "Beast" with an incredible set of songs. They put everything into the performance and more. Loved being right up front.
Just a great show. I wish they would come to indy!
Both are amazing bands to see live. I saw the Crash Kings a few years ago & fell in love with all their songs. This was my first time seeing Nico Vega, great band & vocals. Worth seeing again!

First off this place has incredible sound. One of the best I've heard on the East Coast. You mean I can hear the vocals clear as day and still feel all the band's energy? Yes! No matter where you are in the room! Secondly - the crowd here and vibe of the room is fan-freaking-tastic. Now you couple this great room with a band like Nico Vega - EPIC!
