Horrible Show - What a waste of my money and time

    by Blue74 on 12/19/21Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

Where do I start? Complete waste of my money and time to say the least. The performers where all a mess. Most missed their steps, acts were a disaster, the acting was horrendous, the stage had nothing worth talking about. A high school production would have been a 100 times better. It was so bad, people were leaving after 10 minutes of the performance started. We stayed until the intermission hoping it will get better, but we could not take it any longer. Painful to say the least. Will NEVER go to another one of these shows. I should not only get our money back but get reimbursed for putting someone to such painful experience.

    Not my best purchase

by AJ on 12/17/21Ovens Auditorium - Charlotte

The parking at the venue was great. Price was included in the ticket and parking was very convenient to the auditorium. Traffic flow was okay leaving. Probably the best thing about the night was the parking. The venue is older but has some character. We had pretty good seats and they were comfortable. Because doors didn't open until 30 minutes prior to show time (lobby opened 1 hour), could use more seating in the lobby as we were waiting on the theater doors to open. Concessions were fine. Personally, I prefer Pepsi but certainly understand my personal preference is not a deciding factor when purchasing. My family were fine with the offerings. The show was very disappointing. I may have set my expectations too high. The acrobatics were good but nothing spectacular. The plot was way too cheesy for me. The actors/singers were fine but I just didn't care for it. Another problem was the sound. It was way too loud for the venue which made it difficult to understand the actors. All in all, it would have been good for families with small children. Just not something I enjoyed.

Not what I expected from Cirque du Soleil

by Dbush on 12/8/19Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

It wasn’t terrible but it’s not La Nuba or Mystere or any of the others I’ve seen by Cirque. Small group venue show. Small stage, orchestra but no live singing: acts such as flippers, aerialists and tumblers. Not the beat Cirque show I’ve ever seen but not bad for a night out. Needs improvement or the show itself with more of what Cirque is... left feeling good but not overall wowed!

    Great acrobatics cheesy storyline

    by R. M. on 12/7/19Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

It was our first experience. We were amazed by the acrobatics and the live orchestra added to the festivities. The story line was a mature and cheesy and made for a half hour too long.

Started off boring- ended on a high note

by Shannon09 on 12/7/19Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

Love seeing anything I can at the Palace. The atmosphere is always delightful. The show started off slow and boring. The actors seemed mediocre and we felt like this was going to be a long, painful night. About 20 minutes in, the show made a turn for the better. The actors improved, the cirque performers were daring, and the symphony was stunning. The story line was perfect for this time and age. I was blown away by the younger sisters singing. The violinist was stunning. All in all, we were all pleased and enjoyed ourselves. We would attend again.

    Pleasant

    by D. P. on 12/7/19Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

The cast was a charming collection of enthusiastic entertainers. The plot was childish and the acts were low budget. The music seemed to be some local musicians hired for the night. This was not an elaborate evening of spectacle. It was a pleasant evening with enthusiastic entertainers. Good for young children. Just don't go with high expectations.

    Fabulous show!!!

by Christine on 12/7/19Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

This is a show for the entire family!! The kids were riveted the entire time! One of the best parts was meeting the cast in the lobby and getting pictures! This was an unforgettable event!!

This was a nice evening of Holiday music

by Rita on 12/7/19Palace Theatre Columbus - Columbus

Having been to a Cirque show in Vegas, the group did a nice job of entertaining the audience. Although it felt like a practice for the entertainers. The female on the high hoop hanging by her ankles was a bit unnerving, she nailed it! My husband liked the “bouncy shoes” worn by the host, but disappoint that he never “bounced” on them. 😏
