Paid to see an airshow that we ended up watching fron free at the beach. No clear directions to this place we were supposed to go to, paid to see a free airshow, nice.

    Great airshow / terrible music

by J. R. on 5/10/23American Bank Center Arena - Corpus Christi

I really enjoyed the airshow itself but they had a PA system set up and it was so darn loud, you could not hear the aircraft, with the exception of when the F-16 and Blue Angels used their afterburners. The entire music program ruined it.

    A little long.

by Pevans on 5/9/23American Bank Center Arena - Corpus Christi

I enjoyed it, but it was a little drawn out. I think an hour and a half would've been long enough.

    Disappointing experience overall.

The process of getting into the VIP area was good. We got front row seats at the seawall with no problem. The national anthem was performed very nice. From there things went downhill. The aircraft flybyes schedule and most of the performances was so messed up it was pathetic. Sat there with my family listening to the intercom MC repeatedly calling out different aircraft which never showed up or were very late in showing up in their respective time slots. Part of the thrill of watching an airshow is seeing the aircraft flyby near enough to be impressed by their look and sound. Most of the aircraft that flew by were so far away that not only did the background music drown out the engine sound it was difficult to a good look at the aircraft. I totally understand the safety issues involved at a show of this type but I should have rented a boat and parked it out by the bay's seawall with the rest of the private boats that out there. Those boats were practically right under the aircraft that flew by which would have made the experience pretty awesome in comparison to lame view and sound we had sitting at the seawall. IMHO out of the all the aircraft that did make a showing a few were memorable. The Vampire flyby passes were pretty cool. The acrobatic biplane demo was great! The F-15 Viper demo was very impressive and then finally the Blue Angels. I have been to a couple of Blue Angels shows in the past both at their home station at the NAS Pensacola, FL and Courtland Airfield in Alabama. Both performances were totally outstanding. The performance at Buc Days was pretty lame in comparison, not sure why. Was the VIP experience worth the $100 per ticket. No. It might have been worth $20 in my opinion based on how it turned out. Buc Days airshow should take a lesson from the Bluebonnet Airshow in Burnet, TX. Now that was an airshow!
