We're not sure what critics would nit-pick about The Boise Chordsmen on a Saturday night but for us it was a swirling, acoustic, two-hour explosion of stylish harmony, imaginative performances and respectful nostalgia by a bunch of regular guys enjoying their evening in the spotlight. For every extra-emotive performer in the group, there's a solid vocalist right next to him as backup, each remembering a thousand carefully rehearsed riffs and the over-all effect is dizzying and delightful. The conductor has just the right amount of goofiness and the song selections are right on target for senior audience members such as us. Instead of air-guitar and karaoke, these guys get out there admirably.
