About ESSENCE Festival

Since its 1995 debut, the ESSENCE Festival of Culture has helped shape, define, and celebrate black music and culture. Held every July 4th weekend, the multi-day event initially was meant to be a one-time affair to celebrate the 25th anniversary of ESSENCE magazine. However, it turned out to be an incredibly impactful and empowering event, prompting its return the following year and subsequently evolving into one of the largest and most highly regarded annual festivals in the United States.

While you'll need to purchase tickets to catch the music at #essencefest, anyone can check out the free daily activities and panels held throughout the weekend which includes expert panels, workshops and shopping focused on beauty, health and wellness, entrepreneurship, and more.

This year marks the 30th birthday of the Essence Festival of Culture! The party with a purpose" always includes a stacked lineup of music's biggest names in hip-hop, R&B, soul, funk, and gospel. Throughout the years, there have been many memorable performances and this year will be no different. Buy your tickets and come party with us for our dirty thirty!

    I see a few seats have a special offer code needed but I’ve never seen anything released related to a ticket purchase code before…questioning the organization of all this or lack of organization

    Looking Forward

    I’m looking forward to all of the performances. I’m going alone and I plan on having a great time . I purchased the 3 day tickets and I’m looking forward to all 3 nights. Usher, cash money, Tank. I mean can I just sleep and wake up in the super dome lol. I’m here to enjoy the 30th celebration of pure essence. See you all there

    I will not be able to make Essence this year because paying for flights last minute is costing me way too much money. The closer you get to dates, the higher the rooms and flights are.

    I’m very very disappointed in the delay of the line up and how Essence isn’t showing the date each artist will perform Which is putting all my plans on hold for the festival which is a great inconvenience and not leaving me with a good choice of seats for the concerts This will be my last Essence Fest I expected more for an Anniversary!

    Im just trying to know who coming on what day. I went all three days in 2022 and had an amazing time, floor seats so I had a chance to see some celebrities as well.

    Late Lineup Announcement

    I’m so disappointed with EMF this year. I have attended 18 and this will likely be my last. The delayed announcement with the lineup and the holding back of the better floor seats have left much to be desired. For your patrons, we plan and book this trip many months in advance. It doesn’t appear to be as well-organized as the early years.

    Listen, I get the revenue strategy-lets hype it up and maximize 3 day ticket sales, but for some of your loyal attendees who may not be able to attend the 3 days or would like to book their travel, please release the date line ups and single day tickets. Thank you!

    Major Disappointment

    Essence Festival has got to do a better job with the music lineup release. Waiting until less than a month away to release the line-up is disappointing to say the least. There is a level of preparation to travel to the festival that includes plane tickets and hotels. The artist that have been released have not been exciting. I've attended Essence festival 5 times in the past, this may be my last one unfortunately. I may not be attending the concerts either which is disappointing.

    This is my 18 year going to Essence an it’s getting worse an worse. The line up is sad . We pay a lot of money for theses shows an it’s not like the old days . To be a month out an know information on the performance is sad . I just paid for 3day tickets I pray we want be disappointed.
