About

MODEST MOUSE IN CONCERT:

Indie rock veterans Modest Mouse enjoy a level of mainstream success that few other indie acts can touch. While the band's intelligent lyrics and expertly crafted songs made them critical darlings in the early '00s, their eclectic live shows earned them legions of fans. With their first new album in five years due out in 2014, Modest Mouse are gearing up for headlining slots at the Boston Calling and Shaky Knees music festivals. Fans lucky enough to catch the band at these rare appearances will be among the first to hear material from the new album ā€” performed alongside all of their greatest hits, of course.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Formed in Washington in 1993, Modest Mouse found an early home on legendary indie labels K Records and Sub Pop. After moving to Up Records for their 1996 debut full-length, the band achieved breakthrough success with 1997's Lonesome Crowded West, which drew praise from critics and earned them a cult following. While 2000's The Moon & Antarctica was another success, it was 2004's Good News for People Who Love Bad News that really broke things wide open ā€” the album went multi-platinum and brought the band their first chart exposure with hit singles "Float On" and "Ocean Breathes Salty." In 2007, the band's fifth studio album We Were Dead Before the Ship Even Sank landed at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, effectively rendering their indie status null and securing their position as a festival headline-caliber act.

Previously, Modest Mouse has sold out venues to capacity, like Tabernacle and the Rose Bowl.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"They were honestly amazing. They played with so much energy, played about 20 songs, and absolutely tore the place down. A must see if you get a chance."

"The sounds, the lights, and the crowd were unbelievable. Isaac really blows your mind, his beautiful music and lyrics had the entire crowd swaying with their eyes closed. It was an event I will never forget..."

"Modest Mouse put on an amazing show. Every song sounded even better than the studio version."

25 years later, Lonesome, Crowded West still sounds golden

by Corey d on 12/3/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

25 years ago, in 1997, Modest Mouse released "The Lonesome, Crowded West" and it blew my mind. Tonight, hearing Isaac, Jeremiah, Russell and Simon play it front to back at Fox Theatre Oakland with such authority blew me away all over again. Isaac Brock remains underrated. Amazing show.

    Modest Mouse at the Commodore

by Jake on 12/1/22Commodore Ballroom - Vancouver

Band sounded fantastic! Definitely a huge group of big fans on the floor right in the middle partied all night for them. I'd seem them years ago at Deer Lake Park, but the Commodore is the perfect venue for them. I have to admit I'm not that familiar with the album (they played their second album start to finish I think), so I would have loved some of the hits even if just in the encore, but this is a minor complaint - they were great and had a great time!

    Really enjoyed the concert

by Jessica R. Boyce on 11/22/22Knitting Factory - Spokane - Spokane

My son Harper and I went to the concert at the Knitting Factory in Spokane, WA, Downtown on Saturday November 19th, 2022 AD and we both had a wonderful time. I have been listening to Modest Mouse since I was 16 years old, I am now 38 years old, and my best friend Oletha showed them to me.

Late to stage, poor sound and band out of sync.

    by Flat4 on 11/22/22Knitting Factory - Spokane - Spokane

Walked out after the second song due to the poor acoustics on stage. Was unable to understand anything the singer was saying even when they spoke in between songs. Band seemed to be out of sync with one another in the songs. Thought it was my location so walk across the venue and the problem traveled with me.

    Modest Mouse @ Tabernacle

by Christy on 9/15/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

Redeeming after canceling due to band members having tested positive for covid last timeā€¦after we had already seen them for VIP experience and watching opener. However, we got a full refund including prepaid parking, and a discount for this show. The band played on as their tour ending show and completely rocked! Well done.

    Best Concert Ever

by Bongnuts McNasty on 9/14/22Tabernacle - Atlanta

By far the best concert I've attended. I've seen plenty of shows, including legends in the music industry, and this was the absolute best. Isaac and Modest Mouse put on a hell of a show, and I will be seeing them anytime they are within 350 miles of me. Hoping to be able to see them many more times and would highly recommend.

by Mick on 9/14/22Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

This was our first trip to Iroquois and so glad we did. Modest Mouse and the Cribs sounded great, the venue was amazing, and the crowd was rocking. We were amazed at the sound quality and every seat in the place has a great view. Really nice to be in an open air event. We are looking forward to going back. Modest Mouse put on a great show and the set list was perfect! They sound great live and highly recommend seeing them!

Loud awesome and like a lot of tight songs with great speakers make my body jiggle when the bass hits. Clean and really comfortable environment. People of all ages. I saw a dude pass out and the cops took him away. It wasnā€™t his fault. Rip

    Love Modest Mouse

by Kt on 9/13/22Iroquois Amphitheater - Louisville

Gorgeous venue and I had a great time getting to experience another live show with Modest Mouse. My only issue was there was no strobe light warning and the strobe lights about took me out. Luckily moving to the side helped get the lights directly out of my eyes and it was enjoyable again.

    Great band, terrible venue

by turtle bug on 9/5/22Outlaw Field at the Idaho Botanical Garden - Boise

I won't return to this venue. It has one narrow road leading up to it, one lane in each direction. Traffic is awful. The stage is set in a spot that puts the sun in your eyes and beating down on you (no shade) for the whole show. I have no clue why anyone thought to put the stage there. They have the most inconvenient system for buying drinks. You have to go to one place to show ID and get a wristband, another place to buy "tokens" for drinks (cash only of course) and only then can you go wait in the 3rd line of the night to finally get a drink. They make every single customer go through all of that for what? Because their bartenders are incapable of checking ID or taking payment? I was really disappointed in the venue. Hoping I can catch modest mouse again sometime at a better venue.

    Relocated

    by C on 8/28/22Union Hall - Edmonton

Union hall was crowded at capacity but everyone was hella excited to see modest mouse. Heard the crowd cheering on the songs but could barely make out the vocals. Definitely wished we got there in time to see the opening band because the line was so long! This show was relocated to this venue but overall a decent experience.

    15 year chance

    by W on 8/27/22Union Hall - Edmonton

I missed seeing Modest M. when they played Edmonton in October 2007 because I was away. That was always on my mind. Iā€™m not sure if they returned from that time till 2022 but I was eager and hoping Iā€™d get the chance when they returned. They were great, loud, funny, worth everythingā€¦ I will always remember the concert. More importantly, Modest Mouse really showed why live music is and continues to be like nothing else.
