About

Undoubtedly one of the most beloved and successful international artists of today, Mexican performer Luis Miguel has been thrilling fans since 1990 with his exceptional live performances and top selling albums. He made musical history by being the only Latin American performer to have two platinum albums in the US (Romance and Segundo Romance)--both comprised of beautifully performed, sentimental South American love songs. Miguel is also the winner of three GRAMMY Awards and has, to date, 34 platinum records throughout South and Central America.

I liked the fact that we didn’t have to wait for an hour or over an hour for him to start the concert. Hi sang his greatest hits. I loved his presentation

These few tweaks would have made it GREAT!

by Eliza on 4/9/24Moda Center - Portland

I LOVE Luis Miguel and have been a fan since 1992. This was my 5th concert and I think it was his first time ever in Portland, Oregon. But, there were a couple of things that really disappointed me and affected my overall experience. First, I didn't find out about the cancellation until I was already in the area after taking time off from work, taking an Uber and paying for dinner. I understood that sometimes things are beyond our control and as a dedicated fan, I re-arranged my schedule for Saturday to do it all over again. But here are some of the negatives that offended me: 1. The concert didn't start on time and I think this is a rude gesture. 2. He never said hello, made any type of introduction, like "I'm excited to be in Portland for the first time", etc. 3. He never apologized for the cancellation or thank fans for coming back the next day. No acknowledgment whatsoever. THAT was really disappointing. 4. He always comes back for an encore--this time he didn't! Especially after a cancellation, you would think he would give the fans a couple of extra songs. As much as I love his music, this experience left me with a sour taste and doubt I will ever go back to any of his concerts. It said a lot about his personality and it just didn't sit well with me.

    Awesome

by Su on 4/9/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

The artist gave an excellent concert, but they opened the door very late and we entered when the concert had already started, which was terrible because we waited more than an hour standing outside in the cold to enter

    A little disappointed

by Peruvian in Portland on 4/9/24Moda Center - Portland

This concert was initially scheduled for Friday. It was rescheduled for the following day, Saturday citing technical difficulties which is okay, things happen. He was half an hour late to start the concert and he never addressed the crowd, no apologies, no thank you, nothing. Other than that I did have a good time but I don’t think I would pay to see him again.

    Not too impressed

by Denise on 4/9/24Moda Center - Portland

One day delay threw some challenges with other activities we had planned, but we were still able to make it. However, sound quality was not great. Venue was nice, but very chaotic check in process

Venue needs improve it on times

by Mine on 4/9/24Climate Pledge Arena - Seattle

Went to see him in Seattle. The venue did not open its doors at the time they should have and had everyone outside waiting. Imagine if it had been raining as it usually does in Seattle. All the while people could have been purchasing food and drinks inside. Big loss for the venue

Superior Performer, Superior Production with Delays

by Guardabarranca on 4/9/24Moda Center - Portland

did love the Luis Miguel performance. He is a great entertainer. Loved the sponsored wristbands that lit up in union at various points of the show! Great lights, loved the double-powered projectors displaying his image which made for a crisp and saturated image. Very hard to do! Only complaint was the extended pauses between songs. Brought down the energy a little bit but maybe this was a result of some hiccups related to the "technical issues"that caused the delay?

    No manners

by Andrea on 4/9/24Moda Center - Portland

I went to this guy and he never engage with the public or anything, he couldn’t even bother to say “hi” or “bye” that just shows his arrogance. First and last time I see him, not worth it.

    Disappointing

by A Ramirez on 4/9/24Moda Center - Portland

I was very unhappy that the concert was moved from Friday to Saturday. I was unable to change or cancel my hotel as a result. Changing the date of the concert late in the afternoon the day of the concert with no apologies is just not right. The sound quality of the concert was just ok. Long pauses between songs was disappointing and the fact that he was 30 minutes late.

    The Greatest Trained Monkey

by NewCreation on 4/9/24Moda Center - Portland

Luis Miguel has made a lifetime of amazing music. Unfortunately his growth as a human being is not quite as impressive. My husband and I recently attended his concert in Portland Oregon. The anticipation was high, as we purchased the tickets many months ago, and had moved to Colorado and now had driven 20 hours to attend the show. The show was scheduled for 8pm on Friday. At around 2 pm that day my phone notified me of a change with my tickets. “The Date”. What? How does that happen? How can they just reschedule for the next day? This made many problems that led to another 6 hours on the road to be able to rearranged our lives to come back a day later. With great yet skeptical anticipation we returned for the newly scheduled 8pm show on Saturday……. 8:05, 8:15……8:30…shortly after 8:30 Luis Miguel came onto the stage. He immediately began singing one of his great songs. From our fabulous and most expensive seats just 15 rows back and center stage we could hardly hear him singing. The band and backup singers were keeping time and doing an amazing job, all clear and wonderful. But we couldn’t hear LM sing hardly, if at all. There were high monitors all around the stage making the show stunning, visually. With amazing graphics and animations. There were 2 oddly place screens one on each side of the stage with a solo focus of LM. These two screens we would shortly find were the singer only audience. Like a trained monkey here to earn his tasty treat for his performance, Luis Miguel sang the songs we all wanted to hear. Sometimes we could hear him other times it was just us singing our favorite songs. Not once during the entire show did he speak to, or actually engage with the audience. There was never a greeting, a thank you for coming back tonight, much less an apology for standing us all up the night before. His sole focus was himself on those 2 big screens. From the get go he was visibly agitated and sometimes furious with the band and singers. He left the stage several time for extended periods. We honestly thought he might not return. That confirmed in our minds that the technical difficulties that had cancelled the show the previous night were most likely due to the trained monkey having a tantrum and refusing to go on. About halfway through the show the entire band and LM left for an intermission and change of clothes. A mariachi band came on and were really amazing. Then Luis Miguel joined them on the stage. It was immediately apparent that there was a shift in the singer demeanor. Though he still did not engage with the audience, the monkey must have gotten his fix, because now he seemed to be enjoying himself. This made a huge impact on how we all were able to actually enjoy and participate in the show. The show escalated to a high pitched conclusion with more fan favorites and some audience props in the floor seats. But still the monkey only cared for himself. Still ridiculing the band and singers the entire night. ( that must be a really tough job to have and keep). Without some much as a thank you for coming, the monkey blew kisses to the crowd and departed. The lights dimmed and the fans chanted “one more, one more”. My husband was anxious to leave quickly but I urged him to wait…. If the lights are still off there is an encore. There is always an encore. As we waited with dimmed lights and everyone chanting for one more for several minutes, suddenly the house lights came on and the crowd collectively sighed, the monkey would not return to thank us for coming with one more song. It is hard to understand how someone so talented, with an entire lifetime in this industry has no feelings for the fans who adore and admire him. We will continue to enjoy the music that Luis Miguel makes but we won’t spend our hard earned money to spend an evening with him again anytime soon.
