About

DIANA ROSS IN CONCERT:

As Billboard's "Female Entertainer of the Century," Diana Ross holds an unrivaled place among R&B's rich history of legendary divas. From her time leading the Supremes to her extraordinary solo career, Ross's supple voice, striking looks, and effortless style have made her a timeless icon, as charismatic today as she was in the '60s. Featuring her greatest hits, Motown-inspired backup singers, and all the costume changes you'd expect from a diva's diva, Ross's 2013 shows stunned, setting expectations sky high for her 2014 tour dates.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Born and raised in Detroit, Ross rose to international superstardom in the '60s as leader of the Supremes, the group that became Motown Records'  golden goose with an unprecedented ten No. 1 hits between the years 1964-1967. After fulfilling her contract with the group, Ross released her self-titled solo debut in 1970, earning her first Grammy nomination with soul classic "Ain't No Mountain High Enough." Following the success of her first solo TV special Diana!, Ross once again topped the charts with 1973's "Touch Me in the Morning," going on to release a hugely successful duet album with Marvin Gaye later that year. In addition to her chart success, Ross established herself as a skilled actor with acclaimed appearances in classic '70s films including Mahogany and The Wiz. Over a career that spans more than half a century, Ross has released 27 Top 40 singles, earning a Guinness World Record as the most successful female artist of all time.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"Diana is still the beautiful diva she's always been and stuns in her many sparkling costumes, singing all of the many, many favorites that have made her loved by so many."

"Her voice was wonderful. She was so professional and knew how to work a crowd. Great selection of songs. And her costume changes were fantastic."

"Still a Diva, glamorous, elegant, classy... It was a wonderful show. The crowd in New Orleans adored her, were on their feet almost the entire time, singing along and dancing to her hits -- all well-delivered."

Diana Ross Outstanding, The Lyric Disappointing

by Diana Ross Rocks, The Lyric Sucks on 5/18/24The Lyric - Baltimore

I recently attended a Diana Ross concert at The Lyric, and while Diana Ross herself delivered an outstanding performance, my experience at the venue was highly disappointing. At 80, Diana Ross still rocks, but the same cannot be said for The Lyric's facilities and management. My experience at the concert was significantly affected by the lack of elevator service upon arrival. As a result, I missed the first 20 minutes of the concert, a time that I was particularly looking forward to (a tribute to Diana’s time with the Supremes), as I was trying to locate a supervisor to assist me in finding a seat on the first floor. The steps were not an option for me, and the lack of accessibility was a source of frustration. Once we were finally settled, another usher inexplicably moved my companion and me to separate seats in a less desirable theater section. This arbitrary reassignment added to our discomfort and disappointment. The women's bathroom was also dirty, with trash overflowing and no toilet paper or hand towels available. This lack of cleanliness and basic amenities further detracted from the experience. To make matters worse, when the concert ended, there needed to be more coordination between The Lyric and the parking garage. The attendant was not available to let visitors leave, causing further delays and confusion. Overall, my experience at The Lyric was marred by poor accessibility, unprofessional staff, inadequate coordination, and unclean facilities. Despite Diana Ross's incredible performance, I do not foresee returning to The Lyric for future events due to the numerous issues encountered. The confusion and inconvenience overshadowed what should have been an enjoyable evening.

by CC on 5/16/24Hard Rock Live - Hollywood

Diana Ross is the Queen for a reason! 80 never looked and sound so good. From start to finish, Diana had everyone singing and dancing. The venue was just as good. Didn't matter if you were in the front or the boonies, the sound quality was spot on. Performance, amazing. Band, amazing. Back up vocals, amazing. The outfit changes, her surprise guest, all amazing. Seeing her was a childhood dream come true and I could not be anymore satisfied with her concert. If you have not been able to see her live yet, you are truly missing out!! Loved everything about the experience 🤎🫶🏽

    She still has it!

by Chuck on 5/15/24The Lyric - Baltimore

Unlike some other aging singers who don't know when to quit, Diana Ross can still sing very well. She performed 1.5-1.75 hours non-stop with no intermission. And 90% of her songs were her old stuff, which everybody was there to hear. She is still charming, has a great personality and still has a great voice. 80 years old and still belting out the hits. We loved it!
