About

FLEETWOOD MAC IN CONCERT:

The Rumours are true: Fleetwood Mac will be joined by Christine McVie for their 2014 world tour, and the band is just as excited about it as their fans. McVie left the band for personal reasons back in 1998, making the Mac's subsequent touring somewhat of a bittersweet experience for concertgoers. Bittersweet no more, however โ€” fans lucky enough to score a ticket to Fleetwood Mac's 2014 On With the Show tour will get to experience McVie classics like "Everywhere" and "Little Lies" alongside Fleetwood Mac staples like "Dreams" and "Rhiannon," marking the first time in nearly 20 years the band's classic lineup has toured together.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

Legendary British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac was formed in 1967 by Peter Green and Mick Fleetwood. After moderate success as a no-frills blues band in the late '60s, the group underwent a turbulent period marked by lineup changes and lawsuits in the early '70s. With the additions of Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham, and Stevie Nicks by 1975, the band entered their most successful period, riding to both critical and commercial acclaim with a string of No. 1 albums including Rumours (1977) and Mirage (1982). The group's chemistry both in and out of the studio resulted in some of the era's most enduring hits, and the continued popularity of songs like "Dreams," "Gypsy," and "Sara," have made them one of the top-selling acts of all time. Following Christine McVie's departure in 1998, the band continued to tour with a scaled-down lineup, thrilling fans in 2014 with the announcement of McVie's return for their On With the Show tour.

FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:

"This was the best concert that I have seen in years. They can still rock the house. Stevie Nicks still has a fantastic voice. Lindsey's guitar playing was out of this world."

"Stevie hasn't sounded this flawless in almost 20 years. Just absolutely awesome. GREAT energy by everybody in the band. The chemistry was excellent and I think the band had as good of a time as the audience."

"Extremely enjoyable----the band is absolutely PROFESSIONAL---onstage for 2 1/2+ hours and appearing to enjoy every minute. Their sound is magnificent----unbelievable for 40 years in the business!!"

  • Cow Palace Magic

by Intuitflavor on 9/23/21Rating: 5 out of 5

I was fortunate to see Fleetwood Mac at the Cow Palace in Daly City on 3 consecutive nights. They were at their best, the music was great, and it was $9.50 a night well spent. Highlights: Tusk, Song Bird, Go Your Own Way, The Chain. If you have the chance, go see Fleetwood Mac Live. NOTE: I saw Fleetwood Mac at the Cow Palace on December 14-16, 1979. Sorry this is a little late.

I thought they could have lost a little of their magic with the time that has past and the new lineup. I was wrong. They were better than Iโ€™ve ever heard them. This was one of the best concerts Iโ€™ve ever gone to. The new lineup is superb and Fleetwood is a madman! Love it.

  • The Mac is Back!

    by rolldog1 on 10/15/18Pinnacle Bank Arena - LincolnRating: 5 out of 5

Great concert by the new and improved Mac. You can't replace Lindsay but Neil Finn and Mike Campbell do a great job and they provide a breath of fresh air to the group. Mike has worked with group members for a number of years so it isn't exactly like he is 'new' to the group. Neil did a good job with Lindsay's songs and adding a couple of his to the mix was a definite plus. Great set list. All the hits plus samples from the different Mac eras made for a fun time. The band sounds very good, except for some distortion on Christine's mic at the beginning of the show. Mick is still as crazy as he ever was, John as quiet as he ever was. Christine and Stevie are the best. The Mac look like they enjoy being on stage and really appreciate the crowd.

  • Ripoff Fleetwood Mac sham.

by BuzzOm on 10/15/18Pinnacle Bank Arena - LincolnRating: 1 out of 5

The "show" put on at Pinnacle Bank arena did not do justice to the bountiful legacy of an icon, or the hefty price levied for what seemed to be an impersonator production. I don't know whose responsibility it is to provide audio equipment, but the lack of speakers away from the stage made it seem like you were listening to a band at the back of a bar. The sound mixer did little to overcome vocals echoing over music. Garth Brooks at the same arena filled the space so that you could feel the sound in the way one should expect at a decent concert. You wonder if the tour is just trying to maximize profit, denying Lindsay Buckingham for a sub and an amateur production director with irrelevant videos and lack of buildup for big hits. I just came away with the feeling it could have been so much better with real sound, cameras zooming closer than full-body shots, lack of drum solos and unfamiliar song fillers, maybe costume changes and single spotlight solos, some honest effort to re-live the impact of the body of work, the emotion of the balads and the history we all have shared with and through the group. Lincoln Nebraska deserves more than a second-rate memory concert and so does Fleetwood Mac.
