David Allan Coe at 8 Seconds Saloon was the best! He took the stage about 11 pm and played for an hour and a half. Really fun show!
He put one of the BEST shows I've ever seen !! He was Awesome.. If you don't go see him play , you are missing out on one of the most EPIC Country and Western singer that has ever played. It was EPIC ,I mean Epic !!! Go see his preform, it is unbelievable .
I had a great time with seats right up next to center stage on the end of the table, when you choose your seats, I would recommend getting them on the end of the table, it gets a little crowded later in the show. 8 Second Saloon is your typical country bar, a bit divey like the rest, but no reason not to go to a show there. Staff was OK, I had no problems.
The sound was pretty rough at first. It didn't bother me because he could have just sat there and I would have still been in awe of him. I love seeing legends like him in concert.
Never a disappointment at a David Allan Coe Show. He and his people come to take care of business.
DAC came out and he needed to use a cane to get to his stool and also some help from his wife. That may be left over from his car accident; don't know. His wife then left the stage and did not come back (DAC said after that she wasn't feeling well). He opened with Ramblin' Fever and ran through a nice set that included a lot of hits and some other ones I didn't know but they sounded good. It was a 3-piece band - DAC with his guitar, another guitarist, and a drummer. He did a "songwriter's portion" of the show in which he sang songs he wrote for Johnny Cash, George Jones, Johnny Paycheck and Tanya Tucker. His voice is still pretty good for a man 76 years young. The sound was good after some early initial problems that were fixed quickly. As someone who grew up listening to DAC in the 70's I expected the crowd would be mostly people in their 50s and 60s and I was pleasantly surprised that most of the audience consisted of young fans in their 20s who appreciate true traditional country music.
The David Allan Coe show was great as it always is!!! I am a long time fan..of DAC. Glad to see he is gettin around much better..He really looked good when he came out on stage.I have been to many DAC shows..but the chance to see a legandry singer/songwriter is always an awesome time..Glad to see the background music was not quite as loud, but they did a great job as well..Maybe i'll ride my panhead to the next show.we could put it upon stage!!! "Roy" Rogers
Great concert, great venue. Well worth the trip (3hr).
I was so glad to see this living legend. His health is not good. But his voice is still strong and he can still play.
The concert was awful! His wife sang half the time & she can't carry a tune. We literally had to go to the back because of the pitch of her voice. When he did sing it wasn't his own songs & he never finished a whole song. The concert only lasted an hour in which I was glad of. We never heard his most popular songs either. It was a waste of time & money!
Terrible sound system ruined the concert He was himself .
David Allan Coe did all the songs the fans came to hear. Good time by all!
The man has been through hell and still manages to woo a crowd large or small. His talent as a songwriter and performer are at the top of the talents. I have seen him 4x now and will go back as long as he is able to perform.
terrible. bizarre. kim coe has a terrible voice, seating terrible.got there early to get a good table. standing room in front of performer
A really great show at the BB Kings in NYC. Perfect venue for DAC. David sounded great and had everyone in the palm of his hand. There was such a large age range in the group that made it sorta special and showed his wide appeal. Would love to see him again soon.
I have been a huge DAC fan for 40 years. I believe he has one of the great voices in country music. His renditions of his own songs and some great covers make up a big playlist on my iPod. This concert at BB Kings was a huge disappointment. While his voice was OK, he rambled all over the place sometimes only doing 1 or 2 verses of songs, then segueing into something obscure. Half the time, it sounded like he was making up the lyrics as he went along. I know he's old but he could have been much better. A set list of his great songs sung in their entirety with a guitar player and a decent rhythm section would have made all the difference. I'm sorry I went. It just tarnished the memory of one of my all time favourites Not worthy of a BB King's concert
I was surprised to see that David has gained much weight over the years. But, he can still belt out his great hits from the seventies. His back up band were also superb !
DAC set could have been longer and the warm up act could have been better. Was impressed DAC still has most of his voice. The Cone needs to fix the cracked speaker on the right side of their in-house sound system. Bar service in VIP was Great!
He was late to the venue and he didn't do a lot of his own songs. It was mainly melodies of other people's songs. It also was only about an hour long. Was not worth the $72 for 2 tickets.
