    Sahr Ngaujah was Awesome!!

by curlycutie on 10/18/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

This musical was great. After intermission, it picked up and all of the cast poured their heart into their performance. I can still remember the faces of some of them and their performance and dances. I can't wait to see this musical again. Sahr, Sandra and some of the others are unforgettable!!! LOVED IT!!!

    The Music of Fela Fantastic!!!!

by Gbass7 on 10/17/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

They're truly no words to adequately describe the power displayed both by the actors and musicians of the musical Fela . The energy during the dance numbers were at peak levels. The music was piercing, truly an emotional ride with few rivals with flawless execution. The acting by all left nothing to be desired, a wonderful portrayal of Mr. Fela Kuti . My only wish would be to see it again.... Much Love to every cast member and thank you so much for such a memorable evening. It was theater the way it's supposed to be. AWESOMELY ENTERTAINING!!!!

    The FELA production was amazing!!

by Deansa on 10/17/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

Very well done production. I knew bits and pieces about the artist and his life but the production was extremely educational as well as entertaining. I thoroughly enjoyed my evening. I viewed it from the balcony and thought that I had the most expensive/best seat in the house.

I sat too far away to fully enjoy the show. The main character spoke a lot with an accent and it was difficult to understand most of what he was saying.

    Fela is amazing!

by FelaFan on 10/17/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

Simply put - the show is amazing. The cast is so very talented. The music was great and the way the story is told is moving. If you aren't a Fela fan (which I happen to be) I am sure you will become one after this experience.

very good show, very good seats. Would have preferred a cast of actual Nigerians, the accents were not true to the story.

Great play, not so great venue

by ATLDiva on 10/17/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

I thoroughly enjoyed the dance and music at this event. The major downside was that the sound was not the greatest. Instead of being surrounded by music, it only comes from speakers located in the front of the theater, lessening the experience. I believe I would have had a much better experience had the sound been better, at a venue like the Fox theater.

    Too Little too Late

by msanpayne on 10/17/11Atlanta Civic Center - Atlanta

I was tremendously disappointed. I thought that it would be a great cultural experience for my 8 year old sister, but because the show started an HOUR late, she was asleep before it even began. We have to leave early because it was still going on after 11:30 p.m. on a Tuesday night. The sound quality was poor and the staff was rude. The cast was good, it was just difficult to enjoy due to the poor sound and because I kept wondering what time it was. I would recommend the show, but certainly not this venue ever again. Doors did not open to let us in until 8, which was the scheduled showtime. I will likely never attend another event at the Atlanta Civic Center!!!
