More fans attend a high school hockey game

by JimAtTheDevilsGame on 4/18/10Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell - Lowell

The Worcester Sharks had more fans showing up in Lowell than the Lowell Devils did. The Devils seemed like they hadn't played together in months, were off on their passes and setups. Though they only lost 3-2 it seemed like they never challenged after being down 2-0 after the first period.

    Completely unforgettable!!!

by McMoccia on 4/4/10Tsongas Center at UMass Lowell - Lowell

omg these two teams were amazing!! what an a great game! it was sooooo intense from the time they came out for warm ups till the end of the game (which the devils won btw!!!!!) here is the article tht i found Devils Repel Sharks with 3-2 OT Win Lowell controls own playoff destiny with three games left LOWELL, Mass. – Cory Murphy’s power play goal with 1:12 left in overtime gave the Lowell Devils a 3-2 triumph over the Worcester Sharks on Saturday at the Tsongas Center. The Devils’ win coupled with a loss by the Norfolk Admirals shrunk Lowell’s magic number down to five. Murphy and David McIntyre led Lowell’s offense with a goal and assist each. Mike McKenna stopped 40 of 42 shots through overtime to gather his 23rd win of the season. After the Sharks rallied from two goals down to force overtime, it was McIntyre drawing a penalty on a breakaway attempt to put the Devils on the man-advantage. Murphy needed only 18 seconds to knuckle a Ben Walter feed over the glove of Alex Stalock. McIntyre put the Devils up 2-0 at 10:15 of the middle period with his second goal in as many games. Murphy picked off a pass at the Worcester blueline and sent a shot toward the net that McIntyre was eventually whacked past Stalock for his third marker of the season. It was with 2:10 left in the second period that Worcester finally solved McKenna as Dennis McCauley broke down the left wing and roofed a wrist shot to the left corner. Worcester was able to even the score, 2-2, with 4:15 remaining in the third with their fifth power play of the game. Derek Joslin’s point shot found its way through a screen under the pad of the Devils netminder. The Devils broke a 0-0 tie at 9:29 of the first as two passes off the board sprung Brad Mills across the blueline for a shot from the near circle that found space inside the far post.

These guys dont get enough credit. These guys are amazing players. I have seen the devils like 15 times this year. They have an amazing defense and a pretty amazing offense. They may not win all of there games but they have the passion and you can clearly see it i would recommend seeing them to any one. Great hockey and great prices for tickets and the seats are soo close to the ice. i love the devils!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Great Game - Poor Fans

by FamilyHockey on 1/18/10Tsongas Arena - Lowell

The play on the ice was great, the facilities were wonderful, but the fans in the stands were not. My boys (6 and 4) are learning to play ice hockey, so we wanted to take them to a game. We've been to many semi-pro events in the area and have always enjoyed the time. For this event, we were sitting in Section A, right behind the penalty boxes. Apparently there were some season ticket holders in the same section who thought it was ok to show poor sportsmanship. We made it part way through the 2nd period when we couldn't subject the kids to the behavior in the stands any longer. The staff was very nice about trying to find us another location, and did speak to the fans using offensive language, but we'd had enough. Lesson: Think twice before bringing kids to good seats at a hockey game.

    Worcester Sharks vs. Lowell Devils

    by slapshot77 on 1/3/10Tsongas Arena - Lowell

This event was not only fun, but very affordable if you enjoy fast-paced hockey. Both clubs' parent NHL teams are very good, but Worcester basically owned Lowell the entire game. Lowell's only bright spot was their special teams play, but their constant mistakes in their own end doomed them earlty and often. They were horrible with the puck and took too many penalties giving Worcester many opportunities to score, which they did, en route to a 5-2 beating that really wasn't even that close. The only bad part about the game was these 3 youngsters behind us. They had not visible parenting andd had the most foul mouths. I thought for a second that I was at a card game taking place at a truck stop, complete with f-bombs and the like. None of them were older than ten years old, for more fun. And if the parents of these three are reading this, we were sitting right behind the penalty box on the glass and these three were one row behind us in row 4. I tuned them out for the most part, but when the sound is 10 inches from your ear, it's a little difficult. But it was a very good time overall.

Providence Bruins vs. Lowell Devils Hockey

by BigBadBeez on 12/27/09Tsongas Arena - Lowell

Good place to take a family to a Hockey Game..very clean... Very reasonable prices for everything.... They do need a newer jumbotron and sound system though.... The days of light bulbs are looooong gone.... That is the only downfall I could see..... Stuff for kids was great.... I would go again anytime...... Not a bad seat in the house..... My rating would be a solid B .... Parking also is only 5 bucks.
